Drove an hour off our route to visit, and was met with a closed gate. Sign says they’re closed for the season starting in October. Nowhere on the website, google, road signs, or Facebook page does it say they close for seasons. Website and Facebook CLEARLY state the hours having tours on the weekend. Super frustrating having an extra 2 hrs of driving for nothing with a kid.

First visit to the caverns. Ethan was our tour guide who kept us safe and shared what knowledge he had of the caverns which was fairly extensive, but wished he was able to share a little bit more detail but as he stated he is not a geologist.NOTE: The main or “normal” entrance is currently under construction so you start at the end then backtrack back out due to just the one entrance. They offer senior and military/veteran discounts on the adult entry price of $15.00.

Tours are only Saturday and Sunday. Why would you show as Open Wednesday through Sunday but then embed the fact that tours are on the weekends only.

Definitely worth stopping here while in WV. So many formations that look exactly like the names that gave. Loved the experience.

Great experience. A must see when you are in Seneca Rocks, WV.I’d share more photos but I don’t want to spoil it. It is not a very difficult walk, there are probably no more than 60 steps. Some portions you have to crouch. Tours run every hour from 11:00 AM to 5pm. Admission is very reasonable:$10 for adults$8 for kids 12 and underKids 2 an under are freeThey have gem mining for the kids and a restaurant as well.

If you’re passing through WV this is definitely worth a stop. The tour is fun and interesting. The little country restaurant is a welcome relief to any hungry tourist.

Unfortunately, they are currently only doing tours on the weekend, so I'm not entirely sure why they're open during the week.We did manage to get back out for the weekend tour and it was just as fun as it was when I was a kid. The caverns are gorgeous, educational, and the guides are great.

Call before you make the trip, tours in the Caverns are Saturday and Sunday ONLY. It's worth the trip. If you go during the week and don't get to tour the caverns don't worry there are other places to visit and see in the area. Not much Internet service in the area so ask the locals, and plan in advance. Off the grid almost

Had a great time. Would recommend taking a jacket or taking a little extra cash and buying one there in the gift shop b4 heading under. Tour guide was very informative and gives time for photos. (We did tip at end of tour). Wait time for groups wasn't long. Great place to eat right next to caverns. (Would recommend eating there unless packed lunch because not a lot of places to eat close by.)

A Great Cavern tour in West Virginia that is seasonalThis site is located along WV 9 several miles down two lane roads. There is a fairly large parking lot around that is the center of a family style restaurant, a gift shop and a restroom building. We were lucky and got on one of the last tours for the season on Halloween. This is a 45 minute tour that runs on the hour. You buy your tickets at the gift shop. If you have to wait there are some things to do around the site. You are asked to put on a safety hat that is provided for you. The tour starts from behind the gift shop and leads directly down into the caverns. The tour was guided and showed many of the various parts of the cavern system. It is an absolutely fascinating cavern system that is well preserved. You have to walk from the entry behind the building to about a ¼ mile where you exit the system. There are low ceilings, wet stairs and tight spaces. This is only open at certain times of the year so please be sure to check before you visit. It is an excellent tour and I highly recommend it for anyone in the area interested in caverns.

Great little stop on the way to our camp. Reasonably priced restaurant and a cute little gift shop. Our guide was very knowledgeable and loud enough to where our extremely large group could hear the info she provided. Wasn't too extreme for my 60 year old mother in law.

Great Place to eat near Seneca Caverns This restaurant is only open from Apr 1 - Oct 31. This site is located along WV 9 several miles down two lane roads. There is a fairly large parking lot around that is the center of a family style restaurant, a gift shop and a restroom building. The caverns tours are seasonal so check their site and the date to make sure that they are open. We were lucky and got on one of the last cavern tours for the season on Halloween. We had to wait a while before the tour started. At that time the tours ran about every hour and take about an hour. You leave to go underground on one side of the restaurant and come up on the other side of the building. There are some other activities but we decided to try the restaurant. It is a lovely place with real silverware and great staff. The view out the main window was across hills covered with the beautiful fall colors of the changing leaves. We ordered 2 drinks and snacks while waiting for our tour. I am glad we stopped by to try this place for the food, staff and view. Service was a little slow but the food was good and the staff were exceptionally nice. I enjoyed the restaurant and recommend it for my fellow travelers.
