The most perfect weekend!!! The balance of a stunningly gorgeous property, wildlife, hikes, other dogs, and nature combined with the most outstanding premises - the rooms! the bathroom! the communal area! - and FOOD! Every single element of my fiance and our two 40lb pups' stay at Sundogs was perfection. The owners were so kind and welcoming, and even offered some helpful tips on training. They let us take our time to relax but checked in on us occasionally to make sure all was good. I couldn't possibly recommend this property more! I've told every single one of my coworkers and friends and family about it, do NOT miss out on this gem!!

Sundogs is a special place. Off the beaten track and wonderful. Rooms are excellent. Large, very clean, and well appointed. Outdoor areas are very well maintained and easy to access. Walking trails are excellent. Outdoor sitting areas are so nice. I wish I still had a dog to bring!

I spent an absolutely divine weekend with a friend and our dogs at Peggy and David's beautiful property. Our room was enormous, luxurious, and scrupulously clean. There wasn't a single amenity that I can think of that was missing. The two-course plant-based breakfasts were absolutely perfect! Our pups had a great time in the spacious and beautiful garden and on the many trails around the property. The location was ideal: just a few minutes to downtown Sheperdstown and just a 20-30 minute drive to Antietam and Harpers Ferry. I cannot wait to come back for a longer stay!

This was definitely one of the best Inns we've stayed at. Its new, spacious, well appointed, has vast grounds, and the owners are friendly. The Inn, and Shepherdstown, are dog friendly. There were several other people staying with dogs when we were there. There is a lot to do with dogs in the area, from hiking around Antietam and the towpath to shopping around town. Bottom line: 10/10 would stay there again with our dog.

This was our 2nd year @Sundogs and plan to be back again next year for CATF! The Gardens and grounds are as gorgeous as any public garden, our room lovely and quiet, breakfast delightful & delicious, and just love their hospitality! We enjoyed meeting Sparky and Peapod this year! Can’t wait to return!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Sundogs with our two pups and had a wonderful experience. The house and surrounding grounds are absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious and spotless, and the shared space was cozy and inviting. The breakfast was delicious, and the owners, Peggy and David were very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.Nearby activities: Less than 10 minutes to downtown Shepherdstown where you can find great restaurants, shopping, and the famous Bavarian Inn.

Beautiful location and comfortable modern rooms. Amazing plant-based breakfast-- so yummy. Fun to bring our dog on a trip. He had to stay on a leash, but he was very welcomed.

The location was peaceful and secluded yet just 10 minutes from Shepherdstown- an adorable, beautiful, and artsy little WV mountain town. The b&b was extremely clean, with big modern bedrooms and amazing private baths. The yard has beautiful gardens to walk around in. But the best part really is the breakfasts- WOW. Fully vegan and all homemade by one of the owners- we were blown away! We can’t wait to come back here and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful weekend getaway!

My sister and I visited with my pup Nala this past weekend. The pictures don’t do this place justice. The property is beautiful and well maintained, with lots of nature to see (we saw deer and woodpeckers), not to mention the friendly goats on the property. The breakfast was wonderful- you can tell that everything is homemade, from the potatoes to the whipped cream in top of the strawberry shortcake. First time here, but won’t be our last!

My stay with my pup at Sundogs was one of the most pleasurable experiences we’ve had in our travels. Everything was lovely - a beautiful house with porches on three sides, wonderful yard and trails on the property, spotless and comfortable rooms, tasty 2-course breakfasts, and friendly and engaging hosts. Unlike other pet-friendly properties, pups are welcome in the common areas of the house. This is the place to stay if you are interested in visiting West Virginia with your pup.Rooms: Rooms are luxurious yet comfortable and spotless.Nearby activities: The town of Shepherdstown is quaint and has a nice selection of restaurants.Food & drinks: The two course breakfasts were healthy and delicious.Noteworthy details: The property is well-maintained with gorgeous plants and trees, mowed trails, and a creek for exploration. The hosts have dogs, cats, goats and chickens that are separated by fencing.

My partner, his parents, and our pups loved our stay here! We visited in mid-April and we had a great time. The breakfasts were delicious, our rooms were spacious and comfy, and the hosts were very welcoming. Peggy and David gave us great suggestions during our Shepherdstown stay. We also loved visiting the goats!!! Definitely going to come back ?Note: the Wi-Fi is slow, but we didn't mind because we were prepared with books and board games. There also isn't a microwave - but our party didn't need one!

David and Peggy were amazing hosts for our stay at Sundogs in March. The room (Gable) was lovely, especially the soaking tub. And the breakfast was plentiful, very delicious, and entirely plant based. Sparky and Peapod, the famous Broadway goats, were also a highlight! We brought bikes and went mountain biking nearby in Maryland, but lots of hiking, history, and other things to explore in the vicinity. So happy to have discovered this getaway so close to DC. We will definitely be back!

My husband, dog and I had a fantastic and relaxing weekend at sundogs! The property is gorgeous, well maintained and immaculately clean and spacious. I love that the owners are trying to make less impact on the environment and also serve vegan breakfasts! The only thing I wish they had was a microwave, so it is easy to reheat any leftovers brought back from town. Otherwise I have absolutely zero complaints! This is a great place to stay for anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle and loves dogs!
