This store looks so run down and shop worn. Much of the shelves were bare, especially the bread and the frozen breakfast sections. I asked a young man why it was empty, and he told me that the guy who does frozen food called out. So therefore nobody can have frozen breakfast food? It was about 6 PM and the store was fairly crowded. I went to check out. I had about $150 worth of groceries. There was ONE register open and 8 people in front of me, many with full baskets. There were 12 self-check out lanes open. I asked the manager why they didn't open another register. She told me corporate wanted people to do self check outs. And sure enough, there were people with full carts checking themselves out. I don't mind doing that if I'm getting a couple of items, but Kroger's doesn't pay me to work there. I'm not doing a cart full of groceries when they should have a cashier to do it. If they want me to do the work, then they need to pay me and give me a W2. I called corporate. I doubt that anything will come of it. We shall see.

The store is too small for the area it is serving. The parking lot is very small and always a mess and truly unsafe at times due to the amount of people trying to use it. The store is too small and outdated and in need of a good cleaning. The shelves are not big enough to keep items properly stocked for the amount of traffic that uses this location. The clicklist program there is need of major need of HELP and training or more employees. Kroger really needs to look into upgrading this location.

Waited 2+ hours for a clicklist from St. Albans Kroger with 3 kids in the car. Was told 4 times that it would be 20 minutes or that I was the next in line just to be left waiting. Will not ever use this Kroger again.
