Why bother having a savings account with Truist when the interest rate is dam near 0% when there are banks on the Internet that offer 4% interest? I took my money out of there a few months ago. I went from receiving pennies a year to now receiving $$ every month.

This place is awful; what kind of bank doesn't have someone to answer their phones during business hours. They have twice now deposited checks into wrong accounts resulting in hundreds of dollars in fees for my members with disabilities that bank there. The least you can do Truist is be professional enough to answer your phones during business hours.

I have owned a SunTrust account for years. SunTrust and BB&T are one bank now called Truist. I can go to this BB&T and make deposits and withdrawals into my SunTrust account and have for quite a while. I called and asked about opening up a safety deposit box, they required me make an appointment. When I got there (after waiting for two hours in town for an appt) the tellers informed me that I could not open up a safety deposit box without opening up an BB&T account (even though I have a SunTrust account and BB&T and SunTrust are combined to form the bank TRUIST now). I will never do business with them again, or SunTrust. This was rude, and not customer service oriented. I drove down to the next bank in town, and without an account there, they gladly accepted my money and business, and rented me a safety deposit box. BB&T had the option to be rude, and they chose to do so. I would HIGHLY recommend to not use them.
