“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (I’d give 6 stars if I could)

Today (Thursday the 23rd, around 7:15pm), I had one of those rare experiences that reminds you what real customer care is supposed to feel like.

I’m up north away from my regular doctor and was recently diagnosed with an inguinal hernia. While shopping at Walmart in Antigo, I asked their pharmacy if they carried any type of support belt. They told me it was online only—but importantly, they pointed me to Lakeside Pharmacy and Grocery.

That recommendation turned out to be a gift.

I called Lakeside right from the Walmart parking lot and was greeted by Ann, whose voice alone set the tone—friendly, patient, and genuinely helpful. I explained what I was looking for, and without hesitation, she offered to go check in the back, bring an option up front, and have it waiting for me when I arrived.

And she did exactly that.

When I walked in, I was welcomed immediately and also met Brianna, who was also kind and attentive. Both Ann and Brianna made what could have been a frustrating situation feel easy, personal, and cared for.

What stood out most was the sincerity. They spoke so highly of the owner, Pat, who has been serving the community for decades (25+ years from what I understand). That kind of pride in leadership—and the way it shows up through the staff—is something you just don’t see very often anymore.

In a world that feels increasingly automated and impersonal, Lakeside Pharmacy is the opposite. It’s warm, it’s genuine, and they truly care about the people who walk through their doors.

This was my first visit—but absolutely not my last.

If you’re anywhere near Antigo, it is well worth going a block or two off the beaten path to experience what a hometown business should feel like.
