I think Aldi is a great place to do your shopping. They carry a wide variety of products similar to products found at other chains but for much less in cost. They have fresh meats, fresh produce, and dairy, fresh bakery, frozen goods, and many other items. They also employ the fasted checkout cashers that I have ever seen. You bag your own groceries but that doesn't bother me at all.One of my favorite products to buy here is the take and bake pizzas. I think they are very good. They carry a nice selection; cheese, deluxe, pepperoni, pepperoni & sausage, and occasionally they carry specialty pizzas like Philly cheesesteak or bacon chicken ranch. They also have vegan pizzas and a selection of cheese bread. You can buy a 16" pizza for less than $6. You can't even get a hot-n-ready pizza for less than $6 anymore and the hot-n-ready is only 14". These pizzas are much better in quality, and they don't skimp on the ingredients. I don't buy pizza anywhere else anymore. My only caution with these pizzas is the recommended temp and cooking time. The box says to cook the pizza for 16-19 minutes at 375 degrees. If you follow this the pizza will be burnt inedible. Trust me. I have found that cooking these pizzas at 250 degrees for 8-12 minutes will give you a perfectly cooked pizza. If you like a soft-cooked pizza with a little crunch as I do, then 8 minutes is a perfect time.

I challenged one cashier to explain how she can be working retail hours ANYWHERE and maintain such an unbelievably positive demeanor. Her response, "I can't help it, I just LOVE my JOB!" By all accounts, ALDI is a wonderful place to work with good benefits and advancement opportunities. I see an occasional oddball review - someone obviously catching an employee "not at his or her best" on a given day. From a customer standpoint, I think some folks are just trying to "ambush" with a bad review. I would always wait for a second encounter with a "less than friendly" seeming employee before posting anything in writing, and even if I were compelled to report a bad experience I would refrain from generalizations such as "It seems as if the employees here hate their jobs". Instead, I would just contact the regional office and report it to them rather than to the general public. From an employee point of view, I would never respond to a product request by saying "We've NEVER carried that!" Instead, I would say that the item "is not currently in our product line" - but only if I were sure that is the case. These comments are specific to the LINWOOD AVE store, which faces W College Ave in Appleton WI.

Let me first start out by saying that I absolutely love this chain. So this is about this particular location. It seems as if the employees here hate their jobs. They're rude, not at all helpful, and they lie about things they carry so they don't have to do more work. The first time that I had a bad experience here, I asked for the boxes of applesauce squeeze pouches, and they said they've never carried them. Blatant lie, considering I had been purchasing this at this location for months at that point. I decided to go to the other location instead from now on, but my child's father took her with him to grocery shop, and came home and said they don't carry shredded cheese OR hot dogs, which again I know is a lie. He also said that he was screamed at by one of the cashiers for "not watching" our child, who was sitting right in front of him, and when he told her to mind her own business because she wasn't doing anything wrong, she threatened to ban him from the store. He walked out. This is NOT the first time that this particular cashier has gotten an attitude. I will never shop at the college avenue location again, and will urge my friends and family to use the east side location instead as well.

1.) ONE STAR for Aldi. Most processed products dont have foods; many ingredients are chemicals with names you dont know that's why they sell for cheaper. 2.) Cashier prejudice, discriminate, & racist.

ALDI - it's a discount supermarket with limited food offerings, mostly private label knockoffs of major brands. Food is displayed in stacked crates. Prices are reasonable. If you want to find interesting spices or candies, you won't find that here, but if you need basics like cereal, milk, and fruit, with absolutely no frills, you'll do alright. There's plenty of parking outside.
