Took my sbc motor in middle of December. They said it would be a couple of months till they could get to it. Almost 5 mo. later after calling them they got it done. This motor just needed reringed. so not a lot of work. Did Howards roller cam & lifters, Aluminum heads, new holley carb. Had the engine dyno'd. After I installed engine had to set float level on carb, first thing that should have been done, accelerator pump not working, so stumbled really bad ,had to back timing down 5 degrees to get to stop the pinging. Was set @20degrees. This all should have been done when it was dyno tuned. Then I notice an oil leak. Oil pan leaking at back of pan. So I bought a $30 pan gasket. Pulled pan and fixed. Not an easy job in the vehicle. Got it fixed took it for a drive and a lifter started ticking. Pulled valve cover, carb and intake. Returned lifter to them. They said they would get me a new pair of lifters and gaskets. Went to pick up. they had the lifters and intake gaskets for me. I said, I also needed two carb base gaskets. They wanted to charge me for them. Remember I am out an oil pan gasket and labor on that and the lifter. I said, I had to pull the carb to remove the intake to change the lifter. He says, Here just take the carb gaskets ($5) and don't come back here again. What the hell, really?, so disrespectful. Also paid cash, got hand written paper with list of parts and labor. So I would guess this is not going on the books.
