Wonderful and fun museum with great traveling exhibits. My young son loves the summer programs run by local artists and staff. All in all, I highly recommend this gem of the Fox Cities.

Great museum. I am wondering if you ever bring Monet exhibits to the museum?

Went to go see the B(ART) (Simpson) exhibit with my daughter since we are both huge fans. The museum was full of activities to do while you are looking around at various pictures of the series throughout its entirety. You could animate your own cartoon with stop motion videography. You could trace over your favorite Simpsons characters too. There was a huge chalkboard where anyone cld take a piece of chalk and write on the wall, like Bart does in the beginning of each episode. It was fun to see what other people wrote. The gift shop had some great Simpson related items, but very pricey for my liking. ($45 for a hat/$55 (?) for a tiny backpack/fanny pack. Prolly stayed for an hour at the exhibit.Admission is $10.00 per guest. Memberships are available. Days closed are on Sundays and Mondays. Make sure to go to website to view when the museum is open bc sometimes they take a hiatus here and there throughout the year.

Extremely disappointed. If you don't like their main exhibit, it is pointless to go. When the elevator opened for the upper floor we were slammed with a strong musty mold smell. The art work here flet like middle student could have done it. The best part was the top floor which was two TINY hallways with high school artists. Very talented students work there, but maybe only 20 or so pieces to see. Oh the front desk worker was VERY NICE =) and personable. Also they do have a cute little gift shop with a nice variety of items, priced well. But other than that I was so disappointed. I was looking at the images online and it looked like such a great place to visit. I was shocked they charged $10 a person to walk through!! This is my 1st bad review online ever so this was hard for me to do. But I don't want people to drive 3 hours like we did to check this place out to get as disappointed as I was.

A small art museum, conveniently located in downtown Appleton. I've seen several fascinating exhibitions there, like an absolutely amazing origami display. I've also been there when I found the items on display to be "not much." If you think you'll go more than once, membership is a much better deal than admission.Insider tip: You're not likely to see fish at the Trout Museum. It's named after Dr. Monroe & Sandra Trout.

I love the Trout Museum of Art…I have a membership and bring my grandkids regularly. It’s Appleton…not the Chicago Art Institute or the Met in NYC! The Trout is a perfect small museum. They have awesome exhibits and it’s a wonderful way to introduce the grandkids to the art museum experience! It has a sweet little gift shop and plenty to see every time we visit.

Smallish museum with some cool pieces, not much variety to look at. With that being said I feel like the $10 charge to get in is alittle high.

We came on a day when admission was free. I can't imagine why anyone would ever pay $15 to get into this place. BORING and uninspiring. Avoid.

Current display of Wisconsin impressionistic artists. Some much better than others. Disappointed in some descriptions as overly grandiose. Mostly reminded me of University Art students' work.

Not a single trout. Went for the fish and there where no fish.

Loved the exhibit with all the shadows in the images the most. The rest were cool photography based exhibitions showcasing the fox cities, along with a few other unique architectural buildings in other midwestern states like Minnesota.

The Trout Gallery is such a nice space for sharing art. Plenty of space to take in and truly enjoy each piece on display.
