Extremely high-quality food! I just knew when I saw our breakfast it was going to be fantastic. We had to come back for more, so we got the shroom and spuds pizza and a pesto cheese pizza. Absolutely amazing! (Review from last summer, just catching up)

We love the Black Cat & are always blown away by the flavors packed into their dishes. This was our first time having breakfast - had 2 breakfast sandwiches & the B.C. burrito...loved it! The vibe is always top notch & staff are always friendly & helpful!

I wish they had more vegan options because the ones they do have are great! Love this place dearly. :)

What a great place! If I ever move to Ashland, it would be close to this block - I'd frequent the co-op grocery store, the bakery, and The Black Cat. It's a funky little coffeehouse with a great selection of coffee and tea drinks, as well as breakfast & lunch options. They offer vegetarian food too, yay! Loved how cozy and welcoming the cafe & employees were. The food was fresh & delicious. In the back room there are bookcases with books for sale. When we were there, they were hosting an employee art exhibit, which was really fun. The only downside was the wait - it's a super-busy place. Which, I guess, is good! It means other people like it too! Go there, it's awesome!!

Really amazing place to get some work done. Plenty of seating and a small town charm to the place. Highly recommend the rosemary brown sugar oat milk latte- very autumnal.

Great coffee, pastries from the bakery across the street and artwork! A coffee gem in Ashland on the shores of Lake Superior!

Ashland's best coffee spot for a unique, small-woman owned business, coffee experience. Good hippie food, wifi, friendly baristas and now the added bonus of an outdoor patio area in the summer.

Poor service. I have stopped in a few times this summer and autumn. Always, below par service (this is a service industry business). They were closing early the day I came in. I was there ten minutes before they closed. I was clearly being ignored while others were waiting for their orders. I had to ask if they would take my order. The two girls looked at each other and smiled, as if to reply, "we really don't want to", but didn't say a word. Then one of the girls started to dump out the tip jar and count it in front of me. I had to ask again, if I would be getting any service. The girls both looked away from me. Then I stated that I had seen the sign on the door. Then the one counting the tips said "yeah, we're closed". I feel for the business owners that have to hire these college students that are pathetic workers, I'm right there with ya. But training, is the best tool to combat their lack luster, inherent skills. I will have to ignore this place when I'm in town, and that's every week for the next year and maybe beyond. I know the owner, she is a nice lady. Her staff does not reflect it.

Super easy stop on our cross-country drive. Great Mayan mocha & latte, really friendly staff, squeaky clean bathrooms & delicious food offerings (many of which seem to be from the lovely Ashland Baking Company across the street)

This seemingly little cafe was a life saver as they were the only cafe open at 7 am I could find in downtown Ashland. Once you walk in the space offers much more space with some very plush seating in the back. I ordered a chai latte which was prepared competently. It appears they offer baked treats from Ashland Baking Company directly across the street!
