My Wife and I came in here on 2-17-24 around 12:45. We were coming to get a Veterans Lifetime Park Pass. The two Ladies at the entrance counter were just beyond helpful, it was great to get all of the Info they had to offer and we both really appreciative all of their help and recommendations. They quickly were able to help us get the Pass. Then we walked around not previously knowing all of the great things offered here. Would highly recommend checking this place out, kids will also love stopping in. Highly recommend.

This is a really good visitor center. If you are going to Apostle Islands or the great lakes, its worth visiting here. We made a detour to go via here when heading south and it was well worth it. Love the tower and the views across the area. There are also a short walk from the visitor center around a lake.Inside there are various displays across multiple floors. Comprehensive information about the area is available, plus the usual shop. There is a lot here and its one of the best visitor centers I have seen, and I have done over 150 National Park sites. I would certainly include this in your route, if you are driving up to Apostle Islands.

This is the best visitor center I have ever been to by far, and I travel a lot and love visitor centers! When I was there there were several art exhibits- one was woven portraits of women who have fought for clean water all over the world, and the other was an artists painting of native Americans in their pow wow regalia. These were in addition to their historical Great Lake exhibits and ranger programs. They also have a fantastic trail system on the beautiful preserve they sit on. In addition they have a very comfortable theatre and a fantastic educational selection of historical and environmental film library for every age and interest. Because the weather was not conducive to apostle island tours, I actually spent a second day here watching movies. The staff were excellent too and I saw that many people visiting were also impressed.

Please update your webpage info. You are closed on Sunday and Monday, not daily as all other information indicates. Kind of a bummer for out of town visitors who make the trip based on information posted online and even on yelp. We were here 9 years ago so I know it is a nice center for information. I guess we will be back on Tuesday.

Murals on building are so beautiful and expertly done. This gem should be a go to every time you are in the area. First time on trails which were great for birding and very scenic. The sedge meadow was great along with the interpretive signs. Art and craft show in December was phenomenal with all the local crafters and their homemade products.

What an awesome museum they have there. From fur trade to logging and everything in between. Laid out nicely and what a view from the top, will be back in the spring to walk the trails. Real nice gift shop as well, picked up some books and t-shirts. The porcupine quill earrings are really cool too.

Always worth the stop. The exhibits are well maintained, informative, kid friendly and pertinent to the region. Admission is free. There’s a wonderful gift shop. Also lots of walks through outside with good signage.

Stopped here after hours so didn't get to go inside but what a gorgeous spot. Walking trails, tons of green space and beautiful gardens. Perfect place to take a break and relax for a break during a long road trip.

A beautiful place for education or simply relaxing. There are trails to walk, and many displays. I migrated to the elevated deck in the rear and sat in a rocking chair and read. The deck overlooks a lovely pond & wetland.

Friends told us we must stop here on our trip to Bayfield - thank goodness! Our only mistake is that we arrived late in the day and only had about 50 minutes to explore this well done visitor center. This place is more a museum than your average visitor center. Not only is the view from the observation deck/tower excellent so are all of the well done displays on all sorts of topics relevant to the area. From lumbering to mining, to the flora and fauna to the native Americans, etc, etc. A really cool place where you can easily spent an hour or two (they even have some walking trails on the property). Also if you are into getting National Park passport stamps this is one place to get them for the Apostle Island National Lakeshore. A must stop!

This place has it all, lots of stuff to look at, interactive stations. Just so much fun in general, we took lots of photos. You could spend hours here with your smaller children. We stopped at the gift shop again on our way out of the area. Lots of cute items for sale.
