The views say it all! Located atop a hotel right in the heart of Bayfield, The Deck at The Bayfield Inn boasts breathtaking panoramic views of the Greatest Lake. As it pertains to food and beverage, the food and drinks are decent enough, though they’re not the reason we return year after year… It’s all about the location. The menu boasts a short, but sweet, offering list of appetizers, sandwiches, and fish tacos, with a few vegetarian options, too. Kids can eat for a mere $8, which includes a side and fountain drink, and adults can enjoy Bloody Marys and local on-tap craft beer.Logistical considerations: Despite being an outdoor venue, The Deck is not pet friendly. Also, every year we’ve visited, there’s been a healthy presence of wasps, bees, and things that may sting. We’ve literally NEVER had a problem, but if you’ve got little kids that scare easily, or if you have an allergy, it’s a worthwhile consideration.

We spent our 20th Anniversary over an extended weekend mid-September in one of the Andrew Tate condos. It was absolutely wonderful and worth the extra cost. We were greeted with a hand written note and a bottle of wine. The condo was clean, fully stocked with dishes and modern. The little deck off the condo is so fun. You can view main street, the Deck restaurant and the action on the water. Noise was not an issue as the bedroom is on the backside of the condo. Location is excellent. Minutes from the ferry, shops and all the restaurants. We parked and never moved the car except to go on a kayaking trip. We ordered a salad and peanut chicken sandwich at the Deck and both were excellent. Top notch customer service at front desk and at The Dock. Highly recommend.

DO NOT ORDER DECK NACHOS!! Big disappointment (1 Sept 23). They pour a cheese sause over it and the chips are soggy and limp. The chicken tasted horrible. All for $18.00!Good Grief... Use real cheese and chicken that's fresh.

Middle of the road - beautiful views of Lake superior, but service is meh. We were seated right next to the lake side and presented with a pencil and paper menu to mark what we were ordering. We were directed to take this to the bar to place our order, and someone would run our food to us. The counter staff was nice enough but inefficient. One took food orders, one beverages, but nothing was labeled so people didn't know which line to get in and there was a lot of shuffling around. Drink refills were me running to the counter again. Why am I paying restaurant prices then for fast food service? Oh I do have to mention the smoked fish cakes. I hate fish, but when I tried a bite of my friend's dish, I had to reconsider for a bit. Yes, these are fishy, but smoky, and the sweet teeny peppers on top were delish. There's nothing wrong with this restaurant, but overall I'm finding Bayfield dining lacking and resting on tourism
