Eckels Pottery and Fine Craft Gallery is a family-owned business offering pottery made on site and other fine crafts, art, and garden art. The award-winning gallery features pottery, jewelry, wood, prints, glass, and many unique items from local, regional, and national artists. Visitors are welcome to watch every aspect of pottery making in the studio. The shop contains many original pieces and one-of-a-kind items, with fantastic and interesting merchandise. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Located on the south side of Bayfield, it is a great stop with ample parking, just a short drive from downtown.
Although they have cut back on the number of items sold on consignment, it's still definitely worth the stop. I end up purchasing something every time I'm there (twice :-)

I took a six week beginner pottery class at Eckels and loved it! We were given blocks of clay, learned the basics, and were encouraged to make what we wanted. I had an incredibly fulfilling creative experience and I'll most likely do another class in the future.

We enjoyed our wheel throwing class with Pete, which included a tour of the pottery so we could learn about the different stages of creating a ceramics piece. The store had a lovely selection of artwork for purchase (some ceramics, some not) and the owners gave us some local recommendations.
