Fees are a nightmare here

Charges ridiculous fees they never mention when you open the account and then use the excuse it was in the countless paragraphs of their fee schedule. Charging people because they move their own money between accounts too much is hilarious in 2025.

I had a car loan through FCCU. I have been a customer for over 6 years. I called and spoke to the loan officer, completed an application for a mortgage loan. She emailed me on Friday that she would be in touch, never called. Emailed me on Monday, saying she would reach out again, nothing. Tuesday I sent an email expressing my disappointment and if they had not processed my application not to bother. Now she responds, calls and wants to look at my application and promises an answer. Too late! I withdrew my application and will be moving my banking elsewhere once I buy a home. Extremely disappointed that when I was ready to buy a home they could not bother to help me.

Half the time when you call there you get put on hold they hang up on you. They transfer you to somebody who's not even working there today. You leave a message they don't call you back. The only way to actually get in touch with anybody is to drive over there stand in line and get somebody to talk to you Plus not everybody. Is that nice there they deal with with customers they have our money they're not doing us any favors and they're giving us nothing for free so at least they could be kind and polite.

Most financially sound credit union with awesome growth. Great employees. President that cares. The only place to get your loans.

I’ve been a member for the last 5 years and I’ve had wonderful experiences with most all staff! They have been kind and accommodating for all our needs.
Although today I had a very negative experience with a teller at the desk after using the drive through. After I deposited a check I looked at the receipt they provided and they deposited it into the wrong persons account. They went off the last name of the person who wrote the check instead of who it was made out to. I even provided them with my drivers license as well, for verification. When I came in to let them know what happened the lady at the desk barely acknowledged me. She asked if I knew my account number, I said no, but I had the app. I asked if it was in there and she said, “uh huh.” Without even looking at me. I asked if she would be able to show me where I could find it, she said “uh huh.” Again without looking at me. She asked for my phone, scrolled through the app then handed it back to me, once she got the account number, without showing me. Then asked if I would like account number so that I had it in case this happened again? She did not offer an apology for the mistake at all. She just said let me fix it.
I confirmed that the money went into the correct account before I left. **Always make sure you check your information on the receipt they provide to you before leaving the parking lot.** I surely hope in the future I do not need to worry about this happening again, per her statement.

I'm not a member and don't have business with your firm. I do want to point out that the sign on Willowbrook load is very bright at night and makes it difficult to drive by and particularly to find the driveway to the Central Christian Church. If you would please dim it for night time I think that would be an appropriate safety measure.

Went through the Park ave branch for a mortgage and the loan officer was a total fool. She was the worst and didn't know anything, had to ask her colleagues about every question we had. Supposedly she had "years" of experience. lol. We refinanced to a lower rate a year after the initial mortgage and that loan officer was good and the experience was great. Called there a month ago about a used vehicle loan and the "manager" worked up the paperwork. She is worse than the first mortgage officer. My wife and I have 830 credit scores, yet there was nothing better they could do on the rate. Okay, I get it, so we go through with the loan knowing that the rate was higher but because we have been a customer there since 2012 we thought they would appreciate the business. Think again, we wanted to take the title to the dmv and get the title transferred and new plates , as I have done with every other used vehicle I have purchased and the loan officer said that was not their policy and it was as easy as bringing the title to the bank branch and they would have the paperwork completed and all we had to do was hand them the title and they hand us the plate. lol 30 minutes later we had the plate. I get home and open the envelope and it's a truck plate when all that was needed was a car plate. We called and they said it was only 15 dollars more for the truck plate. We asked why we're given a truck plate and the manager said they make more truck plates so that's why we got it. SMH. After calling several times and then never hearing anything back from the loan manager my wife asked to speak to the branch manager, who at first was helpful but then became rude. Essentially, they messed up and are telling us we have to deal with the DMV. lol. Finally a call to the CEO "Jack" who was loud and belligerent on the phone. Pretty much a total jerk with zero credibility. Save yourself the trouble of dealing with these clowns.

Not what it used to be! Forget customer service, employees are rude, fees for everythin. Definately not the same financial institution it used to be.

The President at the Beloit Location did no look like he cared for his appearance, very sloppy and his attitude was horrible to my Mother who is 67 years old and been with First community since it was F&M Credit Union. 43 years or more with this institution and The President said she can not get a debit card through them anymore, Because she has replaced to many from losing them, also she pays for a new card if she loses 1. The President handled this situation in a completely unprofessional manner, the way he spoke and treated her was just ridiculous. He doesn't seem educated enough in his field of work and has no customer service experience whatsoever. I ask anyone to walk in and ask to speak with him, his attire was unprofessional and demeanor was uncaring. We closed the account today, because of a piece of plastic, the she pays for everytime, There are no fraud charges and will not be going back or recommending this bank to anyone, I could take this to the news for how petty this all is. Social Media would probably like to hear more as well. It wasn't just one account holder there that u lost, she knows a lot of people who bank there. And they will all know about this as well. Word of mouth is where most business comes from. I was very disappointed in the whole experience today. Smh
