Now that my family has found childcare outside of Eichers, I wanted to leave a review. I wasn’t happy with my experience when we decided to leave/were forced out of this center. However, now that our child is cared for elsewhere I see even more clearly the major shortcomings with this daycare.
The owner is up front in the polices/procedures on how she stands on many things, and how she believes everyone should parent. Keep in mind if you do not also agree and adhere to those things they will find issue after after until you cannot take it anymore and decide to leave. The first is vaccines - I am all for choice and being informed around vaccines. Our daughter is vaccinated and per their request I kept their records updated (she only got vaccines once during the short time we attended here). I got call after call confirming stuff I had written down, and was treated like I was lying to them. About a month before the doctors apt, I was called during the day to be asked about a dot on my daughters leg to confirm it was not an unreported vaccine. Mind you, this ended up being a very minor mark on the outside of her thigh not in any normal spot for a shot. I was told they were just “ensuring my honestly around the subject”.
The meal plan is sad! It’s so much oatmeal and jelly sandwiches - almost no creativity, and almost no protein. My daughter, when there would have a hard time digesting since it was so unbalanced. The staff at the center thought she had an abnormal amount of stool per day, I didn’t notice this at home and my friend who watched her part time also did not. A week after leaving she was back to her norm. The meal schedule is also a lot for little bellies. They have a snack at 8:30 and lunch is at 10:30, so my daughter who typically ate breakfast at 7/730, had mass amount of food before noon, no wonder she had to poop!
I could go on, but there’s a character limit- my experience is not unique here. After we attended looking at some of the negative reviews I realized that I did not read those well enough and found myself relating to those situations! Also many positive reviews from the fall of 2021 are due to the fact that if you left a five star review and emailed it in you got a free vacation day, so take those with a grain of salt.

We have been with Eichers since our daughter was 4 months old. We enjoy seeing all the happy faces on the teachers when we go for drop off and pick up. Our daughter is now 2 and knows lots of words and is doing well at potty training. We are also pleased with how quickly things are communicated to us either by phone call or the app. They also offer lots of fun activities over the summer for all ages.

We love Eichers and their approach to childcare! Nothing but good things to say about the care, cleanliness, teachers, owner, etc.!

Eicher’s has been a home away from home for our little Isla. She LOVES going to “school” with her friends and wonderful teachers. Just a fabulous place and a safe, loving and nurturing space for children. I also love that this is family owned and operated and the staff is consistent. 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Eichers was such a loving environment for our child. You can tell the teachers are truly happy - it shows in how they interact with the children. They are the best. And it is such a cute little “home” away from home, too. We are so thankful for finding Eichers and will be back!

If I could give Eichers’ Kids Daycare more stars I would!! I have been sending my 3 littles to this daycare since my oldest was just 3 months old (now 11yo). The staff and teachers are amazing and dedicated to providing an enriching and loving environment. They have become like family to us! My kids look forward to the summer program as they are kept very busy with exciting field trips and activities. I keep teasing Mary Lynn (owner) that she needs to make a cook book because my kids love the food so much! They keep asking me to make Mr Eicher’s Mac n cheese because “it is the best ever”. The 4k program more than prepared all of my kids to enter the school district. Their writing, letter skills, and language were much more advanced than others their age. From day 1, I knew my kids were loved, cared for and safe at Eichers’. There is no place else that I would trust to care for the most important people in my life!

If you are looking for a clean, safe and fun environment for your kiddos, Eichers is a great choice! The staff is loving, and there is always something fun going on. They definitely go above and beyond the standard child care!! Thank you Marylynn and staff :)

This center became short staffed and sent out letters to all the families color coded in late 2022. Example, white sheet, doing great. Yellow, work on things, pink sheet "get it together or else". They put high expectations on the children such as walk if they aren't working. Talk if they aren't talking, Sleep if they aren't napping. This is a daycare not brookfield academy. I can't believe how they conduct their business. After calling other daycares in the area, many children were removed from this facility.Update to owners response. No, Mary Lynn, you forced me to get my child tested when it wasn't needed and left me with hundreds of dollars worth of medical bills. No, you didn't help. His current daycare not once made or makes comments on his development. He isn't expected or forced to nap. You sending a sheet home to families expecting them to do things like, answer in full sentences when they weren't even talking yet to make the parents feel so bad is terrible. You are a cult of a daycare and maybe it's time you stop comparing the children to your family and expecting them to be perfect.

Just and FYI to anyone who reads this. The owner does not accept any kiddo who has been vaccinated for COVID under 5 or 6 years old. I think it is very sad that her political view on vaccinating against COVID determines if a child can go to the center. You are suppose to be a director Mary. Why would your political Republican anti-vax viewpoint dictate how your center is run? First and foremost it should be about the child not just about a single vaccine. As I was reading more reviews, one parent said that the owner gave a bonus to families for writing a review. Sad.

The issues I have fall in three main camps.1- Communication! If you tell one staff member something, it doesn't mean they're going to write it down or share it with others. I spent so much time informing various staff about different things for my daughters care and would still get a call from the owner asking questions. At one point, surrounding the issue of why we were basically asked to leave, the owner Mary Lynn even told me that I should have called her back not her staff because as a childcare facility they do not have time to always be checking in with each other so if you talk to one staff member you need to follow up with that same person. But when I called during my workday her daughter was available and I spoke with her and she said she would relay that information to the rest of the staff. It is a huge red flag to me that they can't communicate, and I have examples of this over three or four instances.2-Vaccine policies. To their credit, in their policies they are up front with the fact that, the owner specifically, does not agree with the vaccine schedule for children. The policies ask parents to be informed about vaccines, and they say if you choose to vaccinate that they have policies they ask you to follow. For example after regular vaccines your child cannot be at school for one whole day, for the flu vaccine they need to be out for a week. We knew this going into it, and I was OK with it because I can respect their stance however as a paying customer I expect them to respect my stance. About a mouth in my daughter had a small mark on her thigh, that was not bothering her was not infected or anything. I got a call in the middle of the day during my work to ask if my daughter had gotten a vaccine that I had not reported because of this mark. I was reminded to always be honest when she get vaccines and update the form. I said I know and that she is not due for vaccines until her one year appointment and that I would update at that time. Then when she did get her vaccines I made a second appointment to accommodate their policy, I informed three separate teachers that I made a separate appointment and my daughter was out for three days. I brought the filled out medical form on the day she returned. And I still got a call from the owner confirming the vaccines. Anytime she was acting tired, or when she had a blowout the owner said "this could be from her vaccines last week". It got very old very quickly. I'm sure some parents lie or don't turn in forms etc, but I never showed any signs of this yet I was still treated like a liar. I believe they do not want vaccinated children in their center and that they will find issues until you leave.3. Meal plan. Their meal plan is very sad. Almost no protein, oatmeal twice a week at least for lunch and lots of jelly sandwiches. The other issue is they have a morning snack at 8:30 and lunch at 10:30. So if your child eats breakfast around say 7am- by 11am they've had three meals basically. The issue that caused us to leave is the owner believed our 1 yr old pooped too much. Mary thought milk was the issue- I wanted to time to explore, talk to a pediatrician because I didn't notice excess pooping when she was with us or with my our other childcare. We couldn't agree on a plan so we ended up leaving. Three or four days not being on the meal plan and eating so much my daughter's stools went back to her norm.I would not recommend this daycare based on my experience and though the teachers do seem great and the children are well cared for, my experience was less than positive.

Now that I have taken my daughter elsewhere and see the progress she has made with her teachers just shows the lack of support my daughter had when she was there. She was constantly labeled as autistic because clearly the owner is a doctor. Not! I would never recommend coming here due to the unprofessional behavior by the owner especially how she acted when I gave my notice of two weeks for my daughter. I asked for her respect and privacy in our decision and she was not happy about it. Her daughters and staff are absolutely amazing and I’m sorry that this had to happen. But putting my daughter in a separate room to sleep, her having bite marks with our documenting or telling me, telling me to not give my child tylonel when she is sick because she needs to be “detoxed”, not to vaccinate my child, not to take her to the doctor, and way more. I waited a while to post this because as a mother I did everything in my power to bite my tongue but to see my daughter welcomed and loved and actually worked with just goes to show that not everyplace is the right place for your child. I should have listened to the reviews when I read them and why people were leaving so abrupt. The reviews are not a lie and I’m sorry for any of the other families that had to deal with this. I would never recommend this facility ever. And to top it all off, the owner, Mary Lynn, stated to me that she doesn’t babysit children and that’s not what they do there. Laughing out loud now that I have a clear vision and not a vulnerable mother anymore to stupidity. Thank you Eichers for teaching my kid that when she Cried pulling up to your facility, it was for a reason. It wasn’t safe. Because NOT ONCE has my child been afraid to go into this school she goes to now. She smiles. ♥️

My son attends here and I’ve been beyond impressed with the overall care. The teachers here are nurturing, loving, and reassuring to all of the children. It truly warms my heart that my child’s development and happiness matters so much to Eichers Staff. I’m so thankful for this experience!

This is an outstanding family owned and operated child care facility! The owner, MaryLynn, has been in early education/childcare her entire life. Her mother was a beautiful soul who ran a pre-school in the Sherman Park area. I was honored enough to have spent a great part of my childhood at that pre-school as my mother taught there for years. Growing up in the early education/childcare atmosphere seeded MaryLynn’s passion to create a strong and loving foundation for children of all needs to thrive. Her 40 years of experience owning and growing her childcare give her valuable insight into the hearts, minds and behaviors of children. She has a keen eye and notices things that could easily get overlooked by a less experienced caregiver.Doctors see our children for minutes at well baby checks. The angels who care for them and help raise them while parents are at work are able to see them interact with adult caregivers and peers. This insight is priceless. As a parent, it can be hard to hear/see that our child may have a need that is different than his/her siblings or peers.MaryLynn has an endless bag of knowledge and information to specialize care for each little and their family.MaryLynn ALWAYS puts the child first. She is passionate about giving and getting the care needed for each individual in her care. She has been blessed with a strong heart and fierce passion for continuing education and research in the area of health and education for children of all ages.Family is everything to this woman! And if your child/ren have or do attend her child care, you ARE family to her! She will do whatever it takes to care for your child as if they were her own.MaryLynn has surrounded herself with the most amazing staff! These are some of the most special and kind hearts out there! She nurtures, guides and loves her staff in the same manner she cares for each family that entrusts their child in her care.I would wholeheartedly recommend this childcare!

Our family has been with Eichers’ since 2015. Both of my children LOVE being there. My oldest is now in school and can’t wait for days off so she can be back at daycare to see her friends. They have an excellent Summer Program for school aged kids to keep them busy with awesome field trips and activities throughout the week. The teachers and staff are very caring, friendly and loving. I feel safe dropping my children off at Eichers’ knowing they are in great care while I am at work. I highly recommend this Center to new parents looking for childcare.

Our family loves Eichers! They make your child feel important and part of the family. The staff are very friendly, genuine, and make your child feel welcomed. My daughter is 15 months and gets so excited walking into daycare each morning and is always reaching for her teachers. I never have to worry about her during the day because I know she is having a blast. They do fun crafts, activities, and give the kids plenty of time outside. The staff give very thorough updates during pick up or will call during the day if needed, which I appreciate it! They provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment for kids to learn and grow, I would highly recommend them!
