I have been going to Beyers for many, many years to have my lawn mower blades sharpened. Ted used to send them out and have them professionally ground, now they do it "in-house", $8 per blade and I could have done better with my Dremel, I have no confidence that they are balanced so I am having them machine sharpened at another place. Amazing how bad this place has become since Hank sold it. Hopefully they'll get their act together.

Do NOT have your screens repaired at this store any longer. Beyer's when family owned was a great store and I personally had screens repaired satisfactorily. Unfortunately, the screen repair person is new and not very skilled (or has a low standard of quality). Attached to this review are pictures of the screens repaired by the new "screen guy". All three screens exhibited problems from "dimples" caused from improper screen tension to "twist" resulting from a broken frame corner that was not replaced. I spoke to both the screen repair person and the Tom the manager. Both had every excuse under the sun why they were acceptable. When I asked if this quality would have escaped Pella final inspection at the factory, they had no answer. Tom told me to take the screens at no charge and stated, "no harm, no foul". So, after 4 round trips to the store (drop off, pick-up but rejected, Tom on vacation, final meeting to retrieve screens), the screens will be delivered to their competitor for proper repair. I wish I had seen the other review regarding screen issues under the new management. Regardless, this review is no reflection on Hank and the Beyer's family. They were always helpful and the best to work with. The name may say Beyer's True Value but customer service and quality workmanship left with the family.

Paid nearly 100$ for 3 screens to be replaced. Since taking them home they almost immediately came apart (I should have turned around right then) I’ve been fixing the mess ever since. Glue. Tape. I paid extra for paw proof screens but instead now I have a massive risk for loosing my pets by merely going through the window. Horrible. Zero stars and fire the volunteer “fixing” screens. He clearly didn’t wanna be there. If u wanna loose ur pet and get ripped off, get ur screens fixed here.

The former owners of Beyers were committed to quality and service and their repair personnel were fully trained and knew the equipment that they sold. That is not the case with the present owner's repair and service department. I took a self-propelled lawn mower in for service that was bought from this store and explained that I wanted it serviced and there were problems with the self-propelled operations of the mower, and I wanted to make sure it was safe to operate. When I came to the service area I talked directly with the service person who worked on the mover. I asked him if the self propelled operations of the mover were fixed and safe to operate. The service person said it was and he re-lubricated the outside cables while I was standing in the repair area and assured me that the mover was safe to operate. WELL, he was wrong. The mower oil was changed and cleaned up, but the self-propelled operations were not fixed. When I got the mower home, I decided to cut the lawn. So, when I started the mower it took off at full speed and being surprised by the action of the mower I tried to stop it and I fell to the ground causing injuries to my head, face and right ribs. I attempted to talk with the owner of the store who also owns a Grocery Store in Juneau, Wi and sent a letter to him explaining what happened at that it may require legal action on my behalf. As of this writing I have NOT heard back in writing on the phone or through the US Postal Service a reply to my very detailed letter. The mower was fixed by a competent service center in the area and we found that the service person at Beyers did not know that the cable was pulled off the plastic retainer that is molded to the sleeve unit needed a new cable/traction replacement and the proper adjustment. Well, that is what happened. So, I could have filed a lawsuit against the owners, but it is not worth it to me but wanted the public to know that just be careful having things repaired at this store. Just remember that the new owners are not interested in contacting customers of their store. By the way I shopped t this store for more than 40 years BUT will never again.

Hank and staff are always friendly, helpful and customer-focused. I can't tell you how many times they've gone out of their way to answer my questions to keep me going on my home improvement projects. I'm really proud to have a business like Beyer's in our community.

I am always amazed at the helpful, friendly staff at this store. I don't think I've ever walked in there without being greeted by someone asking if I need help with something or help finding something. You don't see this kind of customer service at too many places anymore these days. They are a bit pricey compared to other stores selling similar things, but you can't put a price on this kind of customer service. Keep it up!

I rely on Beyers for their knowledge. When I have a problem with a project, they usually have a solution. They are friendly, courteous, helpful, and above all knowledgeable.
