Horrible experience. Gets an F. We, an elderly couple, ordered a custom-built "450-lb-item" from (call it) "Company G", North Carolina, costing $4K. Too bulky and heavy for UPS or FedEx. Company G charged us $700 to ship 450-lb-item by truck (they prepaid Estes), which is normal for this category of item. We were supposed to get "Estes Final Mile® Home Delivery," but didn't. What happened: guyG = guy from Company G guyE1 = first guy from Estes, central Wisconsin guyE2 = second guy from Estes, central Wisconsin GuyE1 called, asking when can he deliver? We told him 450-lb-item had to be set inside a garage. He said "nothing in my paperwork says that--they will leave it on curb. We contacted guyG. GuyG contacted guys at Estes, giving them a "talking to," telling them that 450-lb-item needed to be put in garage, NOT set on curb--customer had paid extra--supposedly guys at Estes understood. After Christmas, Estes called again to get correct residential address to deliver, since they seem to have gotten a partial address. Can they deliver that day, the day they called? We said fine. They asked, "Is 3pm okay?" We said fine. (We can't see driveway from inside house very well.) At 12:30pm, (we later deduced) (and since they wanted appointment time for 3pm, we were not "on the lookout")--they delivered 450-lb-item on curb--they could not bother themselves to announce they had arrived, and departed without a peep. They clandestinely snuck in and out. The situation was all too convenient--we feel it was a set-up--no delivery company delivers anything 2.5 hours EARLY‼ 1:30PM: husband went outdoors to do a chore--spots 450-lb-item sitting on curb 50 feet from house+garage--has a conniption-fit. Calls Estes irately. GuyE2 disavows all knowledge of delivery men (not me, not me, not me) dumping 450-lb-item at curb--plus not announcing themselves upon arrival and not getting 450-lb-item into garage. GuyE2 says because of COVID, their default is to leave things on curb--NOT SATISFACTORY ANSWER--truck long gone, cannot return today. Leaving-on-curb is like old-time blaming-it-on-the-computer. 450-lb-item must sit outdoors, unprotected, overnight, in the elements, on a shared driveway--he will have truck return tomorrow to move 450-lb-item into garage. WTF? So, where the f - - k does "Estes Final Mile® Home Delivery" fit into this picture? We are a residence. What mindless bumpkin leaves a 450-lb-item for homeowner to figure out how to get off the street? We understood, Company G understood, GuyE1 understood, that WE ARE A RESIDENCE, that we prepaid for 450-lb-item to get delivered INSIDE A GARAGE. So who dropped the ball? Both GuyE1 and guyE2 disavow screwing up. "Estes Final Mile® Home Delivery" is a joke, a ploy to squeeze yet another hard-earned dollar out of a customer. We got rooked. We overpaid for shipping that Estes did not honor. We want a refund‼ Estes = dishonorable, shoddy company. No attention to detail. Out for the money. Union probably controls everything. Have advised CompanyG to NEVER, EVER use Estes again.

I had two pallets of boxes coming to my home from out of town. An Estes representative told me they would call to arrange a drop off time. Without ANY contact or warning, the pallets were dropped off in my driveway in the middle of the night. Wholly unprofessional. Adding that the condition of the shipment was appalling: multiple boxes were crushed, pallets falling apart. I've worked in shipping myself and have never seen such a mess.

I worked with Estes to find and upgrade to guaranteed delivery, 18 separate shipments, going to 18 different distribution centers across the US with 1 day notice. I worked with the Time Critical Team as late as 8:30 pm one evening. They went above and beyond to help me and it was very much appreciated.

My LTL shipment was supposed to be delivered on Wednesday, but was delayed because they lost the Bill of Lading. Estes requests another from the shipper, who sends over another one. Somehow, the person who received this at Estes forgets to forward it along, so the shipment continues to be delayed. Its now Friday at like 10am And I've got this all sorted out. I'm 10 miles away and I call them up to ask when its going to be delivered. They say Ohh well we can't deliver it until Monday now. I needed my shipment before the weekend! If you ship with them, expect delays. Two stars, because I assume it is still going to come on Monday.

I have no real background in logistics to speak of and I was asked to help out at the company I am currently at. I have been doing my best to self teach myself, but in some areas I still struggle. Estes has been more then helpful! Our account rep (Tim) is always friendly and willing to help, extremely responsive, and knowing I am new to this, always keeping an eye on our shipments. Even emailing and letting me know when I may have miscoded something. He will then let me know he has fixed it and tells me the amount of money we saved! The drivers at Estes are just as great and more then willing to help out. We don't have a standard dock at one of our facilities and their drivers will do whatever they can to help us safely unload. Overall, this is one of the best companies across the board I have ever worked with. Their customer service is absolutely top notch!

Finding an LTL carrier can be extremely frustrating. There are 3rd party logistics such as CH Robinson and BGL that make big promises but don't deliver in the end leaving you high and dry. Estes has not only met but has exceeded all expectations when it comes to their service, professional drivers, on time deliveries, transit times, service map, and the last thing you could expect to hear from me, my Sales Rep. I typically HATE LTL Sales Reps. They come in, waste my time, and try to sell a service that they have no control over. I LOVE our Sales Rep, Tim Hull. Tim is pleasant, helpful, efficient and responsive. Tim follows up when necessary but does not "over-communicate" like most. Our driver, Shane, is also amazing. He is helpful, reliable, has excellent communication with our shipping department and has gone above and beyond on many occasions. Estes has excellent rates, I haven't had any transit delays that I was not made aware of (only due to weather), their online pickups are efficient and accurate and I do not have a single claim filed because they CARE about my freight (unlike Fed Ex). I highly recommend Estes Express Lines for all of your freight needs!
