This was my 2nd time getting dip. The first time he charged me $55 as advertised which is already $10 more than what I pay somewhere else but whatever. I go this time and he wants to now charge me $65 so of course I questioned him and he says because my natural nails are long ~ they were shorter than the first time which I said I paid $55 last time ~ he wouldn't give me that price and only took off $5 so charged me $60. I waited 30 min for my appointment because he screwed up my appointment and said wasn't his fault. He's extremely difficult to deal with and will Never get my dip manicure there again!

I started going to Star Nails for mani-pedi's and they are great, but the hidden gem is Sarah who does massages as well. Her room is a bit cramped, but it doesn't matter. She is gifted!

This was my first and last time coming here. I called ahead to ask if they had any walk-in appointments for a regular gel manicure and pedicure. Over the phone, I was told the price would be $35 for a manicure and $35 for a pedicure.
When I arrived, I got exactly that — nothing fancy, just a regular gel manicure and a $35 pedicure. By day two, my nail polish was already chipping. The man doing my nails refused to do the shape I requested. I kept asking for a specific shape, but he repeatedly went back to square. I’m not a confrontational person, so I let it go — but the result is ridiculous: only one nail is the shape I wanted, while the rest are square.
To make matters worse, my total bill with tip (I tipped $10 each for the manicure and pedicure) came out to $120 — far more than the $70 I was quoted. The price was not transparent, the work was poor, and it didn’t even last 48 hours.
I would never recommend this place to anyone, and I will not be coming back.

I had a gel mani-pedi. Everything was fine until I had to pay my bill. It was 106.00 minus $30.00 gift card so it came to 76.00 I owed. I did not get the dip done but I got charged for the dip. I asked 3 times if he took the $30.00 gift card off. Yes he did. I swear to God every time I go to Star nails in DePere I get charged a different price!!!!

do not come here to get dip nails removed. Had never been here before but just needed my dip nails removed. I expected to get my dip nails soaked off with acetone, which is the only way I had had it done before. When I sat down and the tech did not go for a bowl of acetone I was unsure but trusted the process - then the tech reached for a fake nail tip and started literally prying the fake tips and dip layers off, ripping them from my natural nail. I had no idea if this was a normal thing for a nail salon to do, so I let it happen, when in hindsight that was a mistake. The process was uncomfortable, almost painful, and has left me with damaged nails and a large red blotchy spot underneath one of my nails that hurts and is getting larger and the nail/finger is throbbing and sore. I didn't find out until afterwards through talking to friends and looking up online that this is not healthy for your nails, and dip should always be soaked off with acetone.
Please go anywhere else to get your dip nails removed. Will not be returning for any services. Only plus was that it was cheap, but they didn't even completely finish the job - I had to soak my damaged nails in acetone to scrub off the rest when I got home. If you have to come here, I guess ask for the acetone soak off method.

Tried this place today to get pedicures for my daughter and I. Ann did mine and it was a good service. (4 stars for her!) My daughter had a man do hers (owner?) and did not even get a massage after the paraffin was removed and we had chosen the upgraded service with extra massage time. So rushed and unsatisfactory. He couldn’t wait to get us out and on to the next client. Also, $20 additional for each of us for gel. Way too expensive. Will not be going back. ☹️

It’s a very friendly environment overall. I’m always pleased with the service I receive. April is very good at what she does and demonstrates professionalism at all times. I love the selection of colors, styles available. Peter is always very attentive to all customers needs. I’m very satisfied and would recommend this place to the whole community.
Style inspiration: Stylist had great recommendations and knew how to solve nail issues or requests of customer.
Stylist: April does great work. She is very detailed oriented and I’m always happy to come back to get my nails done here.

I've never had such a terrible experience in a nail salon! I originally got a gel manicure on Jan 21st. I wanted my entire nail to be white but the nail tech insisted I just do tips, whatever. The next day I noticed the gel was bubbly and already chipping. I went back on Friday to get them fixed, the gentleman was extremely rude, repainted the tips very crooked, and barely spoke to me. When he was done he just got up and walked away. My nails are very rough, the gel is uneven, crooked and the gel is already broken and peeling. Definitely not worth the $70 I was charged and I'll never go back!!

I have been twice now, and my acrylic nails have turned out clumpy and misshapen. It was overpriced, and the man who did my nails was not able to do the design but proceeded to do a heart that was not up to par. It was not worth the price at all and now I am left with poorly done nails.

I don’t get my nails done often because of school and work, but the few times a year I do I always come here. Me and a friend got exactly what we had asked for, and the staff was super funny and welcoming, I’d reccomend this place over any other salon in the area!

Absolutely LOVE the lady that does my nails! She is not only funny and fun, she is nice and super outgoing. Peter is also very outgoing and funny as well.
