I changed pharmacies from Walgreens to Hometown Pharmacy to use their pill box service for my terminally ill parent. In the last few months I have had to make multiple trips to pick up these boxes because they aren’t ready as promised. Their staffing shortage, inability to have a functioning messaging service to notify customers when prescriptions are ready and two day wait times to fill a new prescription has become simply unbearable. I wish I had never transferred my mother’s prescriptions here. It has become a nightmare. And now coming into the weekend, my mother has to forgo medication on Sunday because Hometown failed to deliver her pill boxes. Where else can we go? I am at my wits end.

Thats it. I've been coming here for years because I wanted to support smaller local businesses. But these guys are just ridiculous and need training on proper customer service...bad. This isnt the first time ive had similar experiences either, so im sick of it. Yesterday, I sat at the window for a half hour with five cars behind me. I rang the bell twice only to see the people inside hold up a finger for me to wait. It was seriously ridiculous. Then, they didn't have all my medications ready, so I came back the next day (today) and I still had to wait 20 minutes because they didn't have my meds ready. Enough! Bye! Walgreens!

Deforest Hometown Pharmacy used to be great, but since the other locations closed, service has gone downhill. My medication was often out of stock, and I had to call other pharmacies to find it. Very disappointing. I took my business elsewhere.

I made the mistake of calling a larger pharmacy in deforest hoping they could quickly fill a prescription for my pup was in distress. They were rude and couldn’t promise they could rush it. I called hometown and they were extremely polite and kind, and put a rush on it so when I arrived it was ready. The pharmacist even prepped the meds for me. I’ll never take my business anywhere else again. In todays world, hometown values are hard to come
Across, but it’s here. Thank you.

First couple of visits OK. On Sunday requested 2 refills on the automated phone system. Waited 2 full business days with no reply. Left a message for a call back. Waited 24 hours no call. Left another message. Waited 24 hours, no call back. Never received a text that one script was ready for pick up. Friday night I received a text informing me they would restock my refill if I didn't pick it up. Tried calling at least a dozen times on Saturday and they wouldn't answer. Wanted me to leave a message that they never would return my call . Picked up both refills on Tuesday, 11 days later. Asked to speak to a manager. I was told I would have to call back the following day. I disagreed. I left my name and number and requested the manager call me. Manager called back the next day. I Explained my communication issues. Manager's attitude was not helpful, skeptical of my recounting the circumstances I described. Offered no solutions for the problems that occurred. Not a problem for her or the way she runs the business. I will try another pharmacy.

DeForest Hometown Pharmacy is the best in town. The staff is very professional, there are no wait times, and the store is always fully staffed. Most importantly, there are no shortages of critical medications that need to be taken daily.
Switching over from Walgreens has been a night and day difference. At Walgreens, I constantly faced monthly shortages of critical daily medications due to their reliance on a limited number of suppliers—sometimes only one. This is not the case at DeForest Hometown Pharmacy.
DeForest Hometown Pharmacy is not limited in its medication supplies and has the option to use multiple suppliers. Over the last five years, I've experienced maybe one or two shortages, and even then, they were resolved the next day.
After learning more about how each company operates the decisions is really very simple.
One large greedy corporation or a regional Hometown Pharmacy network that is a smaller, community-focused chain with almost no shortages on medications that have shortage problems nationwide.

Very rude pharmacist. stuff never all ready for family. he became rude because they were missing two scripts. I said, do I need to find another pharmacy, he said yes thats fine. Not, I'm sorry for your inconvenience. so after 25 years, Iswitched. miss Vicki. she always had her stuff together, very friendly too. better check the pharmacist additude towards long term customers who been there way before him.

Great people! Friendly, fast, and very knowledgeable. I wish I would have switched to Defo Hometown a long time ago. I switched probably about a year ago and every time I go the service is great or even better than the last time. Thank you!

The kindest and best staff at the pharmacy! I used to go to Deforest Walgreens but they were awful! Walgreens had rude staff and horrible service so I made the switch and wished I had done it years ago! Everyone at Hometown Pharmacy is wonderful!

I personally love this pharmacy. Everyone is always so friendly and accommodating. I never have any issues here like I did at Walgreens! Walgreens staff were always so rude for literally no reason at all. I'm so happy I switched to Hometown! They also have a beautiful gift store with so many cute and unique items you don't find around typically. Thanks Hometown! Keep up the awesome work!!

Absolutely wonderful experience. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. They will go out of their way to help you and answer questions. Recently switched from Walgreens-due to horrible customer service) and Hometown Pharmacy is a breath of fresh air. 100% Definitely recommend

Really great and dedicated team that goes out of their way to handle things like requesting new refill scripts from your Doctor and saving you a phone call, finding ways to lower the cost of medications when the price insurance comes back with seems too high, and doing partial refills when they're backordered and can't fill the entire prescription all at once.

We wanted to support smaller pharmacies that weren’t Walgreens, but after years of working with Hometown Pharmacy we could not tolerate it anymore. Nothing about getting your prescriptions filled at Hometown Pharmacy is easy. We would call in our prescriptions weeks in advance only to have to wait and go days without them. They are extremely slow and rarely have your prescriptions ready. I didn’t realize how bad our experience was at Hometown until we switched. I also never received the same brand of my medications, and I personally don’t feel comfortable with the brands constantly changing as our bodies all react differently to them. I know healthcare is a business in this country, but it’s uncomfortable my health came at the expense of their profit. I also received questionable forms of medication in plastic bags and with blisters opened. The pharmacist sometimes asked if it was okay with me to receive medication that “accidentally” opened or was damaged in some way, and I didn’t want to be difficult so I accepted. In hindsight, I was not comfortable with it but didn’t feel respected or comfortable enough to voice that. I also wasn’t always asked if I was okay with it. I recommend going anywhere else other than here.

This is our go to pharmacy and store! The employees, pharmacists, pharmacy techs, management, owners, are always pleasant and helpful. We drive many miles, take extra time, simply to do business with Deforest Hometown Pharmacy. They carry items in their store that tend to be somewhat unique, items that you surely would not find in the mega-chains. They are very accommodating with our requests and are extremely helpful and caring. We will continue our loyalty to Hometown Pharmacy, in particular, this one in DeForest, Wisconsin.
