I took my cat into the vet today to get him checked for urinary issues. The vet said he was due for his rabies shot so we got it. We go home to check his records and he already got rabies this year in january. He was not due until 3 years in january in 2026. Some how the vets didnt keep record for rabies that they just did this year.. The vet was mansplaining and talking down on me saying how my cat is perfectly fine and I need to do my research. I will not be coming here again. They man-handled my cat and did not care for him, only the money we payed them. They were very careless.

Most personable, accommodating, understanding, and kind vet around here. Christine at the front desk is most gracious. I've been to Elkhorn Vet Clinic and Delavan Lakes. Those seem like assembly lines. Delavan Animal Clinic...and Dr. TREVOR Berg are the best . I transfered all 3 cats there.

I'll leave my former post below. It was 5 stars. We have 2 new cats. They dont know us yet or us them. We saw Dr. Berg.Dr. Berg is the absolute most arrogant veterinarian I have ever met. He does not listen to his patients owners and in my opinion is only there to generate revenue. He made, we believe, false assumptions about our cat's health which would have cost us over $500 plus ongoing treatment He could not explain why my cat's heart murmur which we have known about would sudddenly cause her to be inactive 48 hours after a distemper shot. He wanted ONLY to treat the heart murmur. We tried to explain could be something she ate, we saw an unexplained powder on the floor...could be the distemper shot (he actually got angry with me "You're blaming the vaccine?!...no Im asking because i don't know)...the coincidence of a heart murmur suddenly being the issue after being seen by a different vet just days before, whom we trust ( the former owner) is astronomical. Far more likely to look elsewhere. Basically Dr. Berg was saying that the other vet was wrong.Except...We went home looked around. Little kitty teeth marks in a plant. We looked it up. Yes, can be toxic. Got rid of plant. We then created a formula of benadryl, kefir & trace minerals. 3 x daily She has begun to rebound. Slowly. Appetite is back. Visits. Doesnt hide. Why he would not start with bloodwork amazes me. She was there not 9 days earlier in great health (except for heart murmur, which again was known). Something changed in 48 hours. As an engineer you look for what changed to unexplained event. He once treated our Newfoundland Dog Sugar. I wasn't there but my wife said he was actually worse with Sugar. She literally was on her last legs. He was coarse & not gentle with the kindest fluff of love. We were concerened about her worsening hips & kidneys. He was rather abrupt. Well she's 10 what do you expect?Really? Thats compassion? Seriously find new work.Sad to leave this clinic but all the good vets have left.Great vet who does not spend frivolous money on office but does have state of the art equipment. They are cautious in their use of tests being extremely cognizant of their clients household income. We currently have 6 year old, Newfoundland & Great Pyrenees both in excellent health. The clinic has on staff multi-generational Doctors who have seen the full range of ailments.

Overall a somewhat discombobulating experience. I brought my cat here the other day, figured out she had ear-mites. Not only was I mocked for not having had the ability to bring her to the vet prior to this visit, but was also spoken over the entire time practically. The office is run down, the staff is robotic, and practically empty. Not at all a welcoming experience, and stupid expensive for what it is. I will definitely be continuing her vet services elsewhere.

I own a tiny Rescue in IL. One of my fosters took one of our orphans in for itchy skin. They were told he'd been on mega doses of antibiotics, ketoconazole, had been given Bravecto and prednisone. The vet said he had fleas. NO HE DOES NOT. The vet provided no evidence of fleas. The dog also does not have mange, which was verified by a skin-scrape. Our Rescue uses vets in IL, IA, WI, IN and MO. The fosters take the dogs to the vet closest to them, the vet goes over the case with me via phone, to make care decisions. The vet today was very agitated, terse, and rude with myself as well as the foster and offered the same treatment the dog had already had. This is NOT the same vet the foster normally sees. We have been schooled today and will insist on seeing Dr. Benzon for future visits.

Great place. Willing to work with you. Give you best coarse of action instead of testing needlessly. I always felt respected. Handle tough cases well.
