Had been here a few times for oil changes. They were perfectly fine (I mean, it’s an oil change). The most recent time we brought the car in, we asked if they could also tell us how much it might be to fix the rear view mirror which was cracked. They looked at at the mirror and looked up the part online. The entire thing took as long as it would take a normal speed human to literally look at a rear view mirror and then do whatever the auto shop equivalent of a google search is. So… 60 seconds? They told us the price ($490 which seems insane) and then added a $30 diagnostic fee to our bill. They did not even provide me with a diagnostic (like a written quote of what parts or labor would be required), just the $ quote. When I expressed incredulity, the owner said, “I should have charged you our minimum diagnostic fee of $67 but gave you a deal” and “how do you expect me to pay my workers?” When I said I hadn’t authorized a diagnostic charge they said it was “too late” and “would you order a soda at a restaurant and expect it for free?” I said that no, that’s why restaurants have menus with prices, and similarly at any shop I’ve ever been to before you sign off on their hourly diagnostic rate beforehand. Also, their website does say they offer free estimates. She repeated that $30 was a deal. I hope they enjoy their $30 which comes at the cost of losing a previously loyal customer.

Stay away from this place! New owners running on the previous owners name m Google reveiws.....they will over charge you! Lie to you....go somewhere eles! anywhere eles!

Worst place ever! They lied n said I needed a new tranny..so I had them put 1 in n when they did the same symphoms were happing after they put the new one in....turns out it was a small hose leak is all.....they turned a $100 job into a $2000 job plus!...they lie to you! They quote you a smaller price n when u pick your car up SUPRISE IT COST MORE N MORE...new owners running on previ owners name! STAY AWAY FRM THIS PLACE!

I do alot of my own car work but when I need a second opinion or don't have time to get to something I take it here. They're always easy to talk to and above all they are straightforward and honest. This is the worst company ever I called beginning of july no answer so i left message .days later still no call back so i called again made an apt to bring vechicle in 1 time and I ended up going with someone else and forgot to call and cancel my apt and when I just called to make an apt for them to see if they put headlight in for people the lady on the phone said we are refusing to do any service with you as you had made 2 apts and never showed up to either one ( how can i make 2 apts when i called this month for the first time evrt 1st time called to get quote 2nd time to make actual apt same day)I tried to tell them I only made 1 and I she then said shows here 2.....so it looks to me if you miss just one apt they will refuse you wow no other place has done that bad customer service .lady on the phone sounded rude anyway from the start....so I highly recommend inerstate auto instead better company better customer service etc

We were traveling to a medical appointment in Eau Claire and our low tire light came on, in our second car in the last month, jeesh! My husband dropped me off and was recommended to go to Birch Street Auto. Not only did they repair the tire, but Kendra was amazing. She dropped him off at the hospital so he could be with me and then picked him back up to get the car when I was done. Fantastic service and wonderful people who went above and beyond! Use to be one of my favorite autoshops in town, however over the years it seems they have became greedy, as I have referred 2 friends to this specific location and I am mechanically inclined myself so Im well aware of what it takes to do certain jobs time wise, money wise, and product wise, anyways both friends came back to me stating they had quoted them Tripple the amount they had said over the phone in person, and one of which had work done and was quoted $400 and arrived to pick up his vehicle and the mechanic said it was gonna be $900 because of extra work they had conducted in which they were liable for without consulting with the owner of the vehicle (my friend). Highly DO NOT recommend this shop to anyone anymore.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Joe was in my corner from day 1 helping me to replace some defective tires on my truck. The process took about 4 months until it was complete. I had purchased the tires from the previous owner so Joe and BSA had no obligation to help me whatsoever. They did anyway despite the fact that there was a great deal of red tape and extra time involved in getting me some new tires. Great place and great people. Had my car fixed here. They stored it in at nifht at my request.. Quote they gave me was off $200 more but hey what shop dont? Ill probably be back if need repair.

First time using this business and I am now a customer for life!!! Birch street auto went above and beyond to help me source a used part for a my higher mileage vehicle. I had someone else in town try to sell me $3000 in parts that I didn’t need. Birch st was my second opinion. They inspected those other parts (clutch and flywheel) to tell me I would be just fine and no need to replace. They saved thousands of dollars and they were so kind through the entire process. I would highly recommend Birch Street Auto. I went there because I needed an oil change & my check engine light came on; so I needed to get it checked. The entire staff was very helpful; very thorough, and very honest. They were straight forward, and they were able to keep me on the road, fix all my problems, and answer all of my questions. Their prices were very reasonable.

We had been burned by a different place in town (Told there was $3000 worth of repairs when we brought our van in for a simple issue) and were looking for a reasonable place that was honest and knew what they were doing. I was amazed at how helpful Joe and his team were. A previous mechanic (who was really good and I liked a lot) said there was no way to fix my heater core and that I would need to buy a new one. The guys at Birch Street auto worked really hard on it and fixed it (this was after telling me it was probably the worst one they had ever seen), and saved me a ton of money. I also needed the driver's side mirror replaced. In order to get a matching one in silver, Joe said the places he was looking was going to be over $200. When he understood that I was struggling with paying that much just to get it matching, he did some digging on Ebay, found a matching one, had me order it myself so it would be cheaper, and then installed it!
