Matt and his “crew” did a great job at reroofing and residing our house. He was very professional from quote to finish, always quick to return our calls and keeping us up-to-date on the projects. Matt and company could be counted on to work every weekday, even in scorching heat, gross humidity, Canadian wildfire air quality and pounding rain. Excellent work ethic guys!!!

We are super pleased with the final result after having Matt complete a significant reno project on the exterior of our home. The house looks like new, and he went the extra mile to seek and find the garage doors I had become set on. Quality work, clearly defined timeline and expectations, finished on time (even early!) and on budget (for all intents and purposes). Would recommend.

We had an idea for a custom addition to our home but had no idea the best way to go about it, so Matt scheduled us for a consultation. Matt went above and beyond in explaining things and even giving us more cost effective options with our idea!

We had two major projects done on our home this year (2024).
The first project was the replacement of our roof in May and the second project was the replacement of all the windows in our home in September.
In both cases we were extremely pleased with Matt Smith's (MS R&I Construction) quality of work and their attention to details.
Additionally, during the roof installation, Matt's knowledge and experience was instrumental in bring to our attention, several situations on the home that needed to be remedied (not related to the roof itself) and assisted in getting these issues repaired.
Matt is a very personable and communicative person. Should future projects arise, I would not hesitate to give MS R&I Construction a call.
Again, I highly recommend his services.

For several years I've been planning to replace my nearly 20 year old deck. But how to choose a good contractor? After only a bit of Google-ing, I picked MS R&I Construction. What a great choice it turned out to be!! From Matt's initial home visit, to the estimate and color choices, to filing the permit I became more and more comfortable with each interaction. Matt's schedule even opened up and he was able to move the project up by almost 2 months. He and his dad, Dave were both friendly and professional. Matt talked me through each step of the job and calmed my nerves when I was concerned with the excavation portion of it. I witnessed first-hand his meticulous attention to detail at every turn. The beautiful finished deck is a true testament to his talent and pride in his work. I am absolutely thrilled with this amazing addition to my home. I would highly recommend Matt to everyone who is in need of a quality contractor. It was a great experience start to finish. Thanks, again Matt and Dave!

Matt was a pleasure to work with from the time of estimate to job completion. He answered my many questions, and always explained the "why". He really knows his stuff, and I am confident that we received top notch craftsmanship that will last years to come. His work ethic shows through and through, and he managed to finish a little early even after we expanded the scope of the original project by adding new soffit and fascia. Matt did a great job replacing our old James Hardie cement board siding with new premium vinyl siding. This project challenged him, a lot of detail work, and so many big windows to work around! Right from the start, I could tell he was timely, had fair pricing, great communication, very committed / a hard worker, and has a high level of attention to detail. He’s a one man show, but that never concerned me. He’s got the knowledge, skill & resources to do advanced jobs and strives for high quality & customer satisfaction. While I was initially concerned that MS R&I is a one-man business, the photos below speak for themselves in terms of the quality of the deck that was built for us. Matt worked long hours on our deck but still had time to answer all of our questions and to walk us through the construction.
