You can't beat a family owned campground. We look forward to coming here every year. Their planned activities and kid activities are so fun!

We have a seasonal site that we bought in August. We are newbies for sure but we love it here! We have met so many great people and done so many fun things. We have zero complaints! The caretakers/owners are fantastic people and you can tell they really care about the place! So nice that you can have golf carts and there is so much for the kids to do! My son has met some great kids here. We were sad to close up but we are looking forward to spring opening! If you are looking for a spot then you should check this place out! It's a great place to get away too!Nearby activities: Pool, beach, lake to swim in/fish on/kayak or canoe on, bounce pad for kids to jump on, mini golf, lots of fun activities planned, cute store with frozen Lotsa Motza pizza delivery right to your site, and golf cart rentals if you don't have one. You can run walk bike or zip around in your golf cart. Dog friendly kid friendly. There are cabins to rent or pull your own RV/camper in as a rented spot or "weekender" as the seasonals call them. So much fun and so many great people.

Amazing place. They upgraded the beach recently with a fishing dock and water rentals. They got jumping pillows, water inflatables, mini golf and tons of kids events. We were there for a Halloween weekend and it was a blast for kids and adults. The owner Joanne, sorry if I botched the spelling, bends over backwards for people. Great place that makes us consider a seasonal.

First time at this campground for the last weekend of September 9/29/23 - 10/01/23. (HALLOWEEN WEEKEND theme ?)There are areas that this campground needs to upgrade like a new playground for kids and some water-electrical tlc at the hookups but we just learned that this campground is under NEW ADMINISTRATION/Family owned business. We understand that upgrades and renovations take time and money. The store is nice and clean one of my favorite spots, Ice cream and pizzas are the best.Pet friendly business which is a MUST for US.We met some of the seasonals, they are very nice humble people, all over the place you can feel the good family vibe.Big shout out to Joanne the manager she answered my emails super fast and was very kind to find me a rental Golf cart that we really enjoyed.BIG thank you to all the staff for everything you guys did for us over the weekend we are looking forward to see you next year.Keep it up with the good work.

This place has potential to be very nice. A little could go a long way here. The miniature golf course needed weeded and was due for much needed repairs. There was even a dead animal in one of the holes. Which if they had someone to maintain and clean all the play areas it should of been found. The horse shoe pit needed TLC that would not be that pricey, but would take some time and attention. The lake was beautiful, but would of been nice to have more than one area(the dock)to fish from. It got crowded and was an accident waiting to happen. The pool is not heated so that was a big disappointment. There is only one shower facility and you had to pay to shower. I hear they have new owners so hopefully there will be some much needed updates. We camped with friends & family and made the most of our time together, but unfortunately we agreed that we will not be returning. For the price we felt we could easily find somewhere with nicer well maintained amenities.

We stayed two nights in The Lodge during the week before Labor Day weekend. It is a big beautiful house that sleeps 20 I think. Big stone fireplace, 3 br downstairs with 2 queen beds in each and a loft with 6 or 7 queen beds and a bathroom. 2 additional bathrooms downstairs, one with a jacuzzi tub. There are new owners there who are very accommodating and are trying to get everything that was neglected back in good shape so we’ll be anxious to check it out next summer. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. The lake was a little too full of green algae for our liking but that’s to be expected at the end of a very hot summer. The campground is more wooded than most in the area so you definitely get that camping experience! Golf carts available, snacks in the camp store along with good ice cream. Wish we could’ve been there for the weekend because it looked like lots of fun things planned!?

Our 1st time as seasonals. It has been a fabulous experience! Bands every Saturday, all the amenities, the lake... it's just the most relaxing place. There is even a pair of eagles on the lake. Rice Lake is wake free, so it's a great place to kayak and fish too.The other seasonal folks we have met are so friendly and inviting. Come check it out. You won't regret it!

When I was very young my family and I would often go to this campground, as a kid I have always loved this place because I was able to make friends, go swimming, go on walks, and play miniature golf. If I remember right, I think there used to be a small theatre that would play random popular movies for kids to enjoy. Now going there as an adult, they did take out that small theater, the miniature golf courses need a lot of maintenance its looks completely run down. The mens bathroom is exactly how I remember it when I was little but now I feel it needs some work and needs to be updated for those to feel more comfortable. Overall my favorite thing about this campground currently is that there are a lot of shaded areas to camp and also there are very friendly staff that treats you well and makes deliveries to your camp site if you need anything. Even though this place needs to be updated but I strongly feel that its still the best place I can go to relax and enjoy.

We are SO grateful to Hickory Hills for accommodating our large family for our family reunion this past weekend. We had 100+ in attendance and I am hearing nothing but positive feedback from the family. A few of us stayed on the campsites, which were in great shape. We occupied most (if not all) of the rental units for the weekend. The rentals were impeccably-kept. The mattresses were comfortable, and the rentals included things like hand soap and coffee makers. There is a large athletic field where we were able to host our main gatherings. The camp store is well-stocked with necessities and the friendly staff offer delivery of pizzas, firewood and ice. The many children in our party LOVED the fun that the campground offers - a very clean/large pool, the jumping pillow, the basketball and pickleball areas. The lake is clean and bordered by a county park - offering fun with the Wibbit obstacle course, while also having a serene setting. We were glad that many of us had rented golf carts for the weekend, as the property is large. The owners and their staff went above and beyond to make sure that our family had a wonderful time. We will forever be grateful that we found this gem of a campground.

We stayed over 4th of July for the first time and fell in love with the place! The new owners are doing so much to the property and are so kind. We ended up needing a extra hose and extension cord and they brought us ones to borrow right away at no cost. They keep everything very clean and the pool is sparkling. My kids love that the pool is deep on one side (9ft). We had so much fun with the mini golf especially playing in the dark with glow balls and light up holes. Lake obstacle course is so fun, my kids were on it for hours at a time. Lake was great to kayak and fish on. They have other fun activities too. People are super friendly there. We definitely would recommend it!

Amazing place! Quiet wooded area. We stayed in the park model# 2. Very clean. Comfortable furnishings. It was so nice to feel like you were at a state park setting, although close to home. So many activities for kids. Nice beach with obstacle course. Jumping pillow. Fishing. Our site was amazing. Staff is very personable. Everyone there is so friendly! Can't wait to go again!

We just left here today and we could not have had a better experience. The whole staff was just amazing and the campground was so nice and cozy. My daughter made me take her on about 15 golf cart rides around the park lol. Usually when we go on vacation we run into one hiccup but we cannot think of one bad thing we experienced this weekend. My daughter has now asked me to sell the boat and get a camper and try to get a seasonal site here starting next year. We cannot wait to come back• Q hickory hills campground

We stayed here for the first time this past weekend and we are already planning a trip back! This is a great place for camping with the kids! A perfect combination of roughin' it with amenities. We loved all the scheduled activities! The owners and their family are incredibly nice and they even helped us out with some issues getting our popup camper down on the last day. We'll definitely be back soon!

My family has a seasonal campsite at Hickory Hills. The park is spacious and clean, and the staff is so hard working and friendly. This family owned campground is kid-friendly and dog-friendly. It has already been getting small improvements since we joined the HHCG family this year so I expect this already great getaway to get even better. Hope to see you 'round the campfire, at the patio for ice cream, or at the lake to float and play on the obstacle course.
