I am leaving a one star review for a couple reasons biggest one of them all the price, you all are charging 76$ for riding on ice and squishy water like it's literally mind blowing, only for the ski lift imagine if you'd rent, i am never coming back, id rather visit another resort that actually has decent snow not ice and charges within the reasonable limits, i understand inflation but 2 years ago it was 35 bucks they jumped to 50 in a year and now 76 bucks for a ski lift from 9-5 thats crazy, its a total scam, ride it yourself .

Reviewing the golf course. This course is a great value. $42 with cart. A lot of challenging elevation changes on Summit. Meadows was beautiful. The tee boxes could use some love (it is end of season so pass here for sure). Will absolutely play again

We stayed at the resort and played golf all weekend. Hotel rooms remind me of 35 years ago when we skied. Rooms need to be updated. I skied at Alpine since 1983, but never knew they had golf courses. Maybe because I recently started golfing. We were focusing on golf so the room conditions didn't bother us too much. They were very old and musty, but kept clean. We were golfing all day and just slept. Golf courses were very fun to play with some challenges, three 9-hole courses. All the staffs at the resort were very friendly, helpful, and nice. Will I come back for golf? Definitely we will be back.

I love the layout and challenge of this course. I've played there a few times, the first time was a year or so ago. Played there back this past June, the course was in a bit of rough shape at that time due to what looked like irrigation lines that were installed, not on every hole but plenty of them. Restoration hadn't even begun at that point so bare dirt and nothing close to smooth ground in those areas was bad. The course played slow that day. Which brings me to today. We figured the irrigation work should have been restored by now so we decided to try it again. The pace of play today was unbearable. On hole 2, we asked the bev cart gal how the traffic ahead was. She informed us of 2-6 somes ahead of us. What course allows that? It took us, a twosome, 3 hours to play the front 9. The pace picked up slightly on the back, we got to the 14th green and decided to skip 15-16 since 17th tee box was empty. Played 16 holes and it was still close to 5 hours. I understand when a course is full but damn keep the rangers out there pushing people. The 4 some we followed today, I think they spent more time going the wrong way on fairways than going forward. It was awful, probably won't play there again.

Avid golfer and longtime local resident. I’ve golfed here 40 or 50 times in my lifetime. I will say the new ownership has done amazing things with the property over the last few years. The changes they’ve made and the money invested in the new irrigation system is great. However, there are a few things that cause me to give just 2 stars. Quite a few of the holes are unplayable as they sit today. The second hole on the Meadows course. Trees cover half of the green and it makes it almost impossible to play a shot to any pin located on the right side of the green. Today the pain was as far right as it possibly could be. You literally can’t hit the green at all from the center to the right. Get ready to hunt for a good spot to tee off from. The like to put the markers on top of the mounds or in the uneven spots. The entire tee on 7 was cover in acorns. Like not a bunch but covered completely. $65!!!!! To play here. the biggest thing that made my experience 2 stars was when I got there They told me to hurry up and get out ahead of a group of six ladies that were playing. They had a tee time after me and this would be no problem as I was a single. I get through my first nine in 70 mins. I get through the first two holes of the back nine and I end up catching the group of six ladies all playing together. These ladies had missed their tee time and they put them out on the back ahead of me. I waited almost 20 minutes on one hole. I quit after 15 holes. The first 12 holes took me an hour and 10 minutes. The last three holes took me an hour. The issue is these ladies were accommodated for, And I understand why. six of them versus one of me. But they were late on purpose almost, knowing full well that they will be accommodated for. no matter what they will not be said no to. The customer service in this country has gotten out of hand. It creates problems like this for people who follow the rules and do the right thing end up getting the short end of the stick. Well I think I have a way to stick it to them. For the first time in my life, I’m buying a golf membership next year. I’ve been trying to decide between a couple different places that are around here. Alpine Valley, Eagle Springs and kettle moraine or my three choices. Played all three many times this year and I’ve made my choice. Those six ladies may be there today but I was going to be there at least 35 times next summer. thanks again to the ownership for doing such great work out there to make the improvements.

The golf course is a great layout and the scenery is beautiful. Some of the tee boxes, fairways, and fringe around the greens definitely need work, but you can see the grounds crew putting in effort to restore the course into good condition, I just wish they would lower their prices while the course is in this condition. Oh and the starter today I think his name was Ruth is an absolute legend, he deserves a raise!! Respect the course and their employees and they'll be respectful back!

I have come to this golf course for 3 years now. Its a fun course, but definitely needs better t boxes as they are very dry and chunky. I never would have even mentioned it if not for the bad experience i had with the ranger last night. Me and 3 friends drove over an hour and a half from Elgin to play 18. On hole 14 at about 7:45 the Ranger says they need the carts in in 10minutes. We will get back to that because i have pictures of how bright it still was.He drives past us to the get the hole 15 where there is another group whos closer to his age that he’s letting t off and waits for us at the t box.We politely ask him if we could play one more hole because we had $100/person on the line and it was tied. He told us no, which would have been fine however, he told us no because he has a wife and kids that he wants to get home to. I completely understand and have a family of my own but as someone who drove an hour and a half, for terribly kept t boxes and you are going to cut my round short because you want to go home is unacceptable in my opinion. Im not the person who made the schedule.Heres where it gets worse, not only did he sit there telling us that we couldnt play a hole but he held our hand into the clubhouse to make sure we didnt. Meanwhile, the group in front of us was allowed to play 2 more holes WHILE HE WATCHED THEM and we pointed it out to him. He didnt care about that group playing 2 holes but we couldnt play 1. I felt and still feel extremely discriminated against and that we were treated very unfairly by this ranger. I recommend that if youre under the age of say 40-45 you be careful because they are going to treat you different than the rest of the people out there. Below I am attaching the pictures of how much daylight that was still out WHILE he was driving us into the clubhouse like children.

Thoroughly enjoyed the golf course. Nice variety of holes. The two par 3s on the Summit course are dramatic. Greens in great shape (albeit a bit slow) but the fairways and the surrounding rough were at times indistinguishable. Staff was attentive and helpful. I'll play here again when in the area.

My rating is for the hotel rooms. Both our rooms had mildew/mold smell. it was so humid as the air conditioners are ancient. The carpeting felt wet. Seriously, pull out that carpeting. It's so gross and stained. They could have cleaned the toilet as well before putting on the strip of cleanliness. Our window did not lock and we were on the ground floor. Were told not all windows lock in that area. The staff were very nice and friendly however. But clean the place up.

Nice very long course. Lost about 17 balls, so almost 1 per hole lol. Had a good time. Be prepare if you don’t get a cart, it’s a very long course and lots of hills. The cart was very nice and. Lean. I think it was electric and it came with free tees and the staff was nice. The cart girl was pretty cool!

Alpine Valley will always remain my favorite skiing place. Everything is very accessible, everybody is in good mood, there is no crowd if you go early on any weekday. I don’t do weekends!

I used to ski at Wilmot, once I discovered AV over 10 years ago NEVER went back to Wilmot. My kids love Alpine as well. Great place. Enjoy!

One of the best ski resorts close to Chicago. Great options for beginners, some really fast runs (for midwest!) and well kept food area and restrooms. Good quality equipment if you are renting.Only drawback - you can’t buy lift tickets online (if you are not staying at the resort). So it’s a hit or miss to get the tickets on a busy long weekend.

Great time at Alpine Valley again today. Love this place, enjoying with my grown daughters. Despite the fairly warm day, conditions were great. All lifts and runs were open. Great job, AVR!
