Uncle Tom’s is a must stop when you are in Door County. It’s great for kids and adults. Dr. Mueller and his family are always so kind and welcoming and will bend over backwards to provide you with the local hospitality Door County is known for. I couldn’t believe the owners make all of the candy right in the store. The location is only a short drive from Sister Bay and easy stop when headed to Washington Island. We always get some bright and fudge for the ferry ride but somehow it’s always gone before the ride back. I also love to look at all the old police and fire patches in the store. This place is a time capsule of generations past and it’s so neat that it’s located in an actual old school house. Thanks for giving me and my family memories for a lifetime.

Haven't had the pleasure of being to the store. But really enjoyed the chocolate that they offer.Would recommend the Dark Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt, Strawberries n' Cream Chocolate Bark (when in season), Mint Oreo (super light on the mint which is nice), and any of their seasonal offerings which are always great to try out.

What a great experience! The chocolate we bought was delicious and we loved the history of the store and building.

Adorable little candy store!!!! Super cute built and lots of "made in door county" candy. I got these amazing jelly beans and homemade syrup! This is my first time trying real syrup and oh my goodness it was so so good!!!!

We didn't go to the candy store, but we did buy Uncle Tom's Dark Cherry candy at a coffee shop in northern Wisconsin while on vacation. I sent an email and left a voicemail sharing our disappointment with the candy, which tasted like it was made from cheap waxy chocolate wafers, with what seemed like shavings from less than one cherry. It truly was horrible. We would have gone back to ask for a refund but we had already left the city when we tried it. I thought contacting them would give them a chance to make it right -- but that can't happen when no one can take the time to respond. So, alas, I have taken to posting about it. If you see this candy or shop, pass it up. Or contact me and you can have what's left of our overpriced candy (which we wouldn't consider overpriced if it was quality chocolate that actually contained cherries). --- followup to owner's answer: Therapeutic? That's funny. An acknowledgement of any sort would have been nice; a refund or replacement with something else would have earned you a customer for life. Your loss.

Nice little candy store in the middle of no where. Sells lots of different types of chocolate. Very good chocolate if I do say so myself. The building has some history to it as well. Lots of pictures that was autographed by some very famous people. Looks like this Uncle Tom touch the hearts of a lot of people in his lifetime.

It's just super weird. It's off the main streets. It's more of a chocolate store, weird layout. I don't know you would have to see it yourself, but don't go out of your way to see it

Met the original Uncle Tom years ago in 1980's; he was so welcoming. He shared interesting stories and was a real delight. Happy to discover his school house is still in operation (although it looks quite different) and is run by a lovely young woman. The dark chocolate cherry pecan bark and peanut brittle is delicious. Can't wait to try the regular and potato pancake mixes. Plus there's a small but interesting museum too.

The only complaint I have is that I wished we lived closer so we could stock up more often. Fantastic chocolate and really friendly owners!

Candy is very pricey. $2 for a blow pop! Not a lot of selection, and the chocolate they use on homemade candy tastes really cheap, i got the chocolate covered Pecan brittle, the brittle part was nice. I'm sorry. The lady inside was very nice. My grandma said she liked the pancake mix.

A hidden gem of delicious sweets, rich history, and friendly people. Can't wait to spread the word and come back next time we are in door county.

Great little place with nice people. The Northern thumb is truly beutiful. A stop at the store and a trip to Newport State Park are well worth it.

The store has a wonderful selection of chocolate bark and brittle! There is also some other candy choices (suckers, candy sticks, etc) and there is a fun side room with some antiques on display (not for sale). Staff was very friendly. Don’t miss the first responder patches from all over the state on display!
