I've known this place since I was a child, my dad was a doctor for the nuns for 40 years and we got to visit the nuns and explore this amazing building! Many of my classmates from grade school were altar boys in the chapel inside the convent. The convent grounds have been sold and are being turned into living quarters. Can't wait to see what they do, I've heard that the chapel is being saved in the upgrade. Don't know the name of the architect, but friends say that he has a great reputation and has a love for the place. Good news.

So sad that this historic building is being torn down for new development. Hope they repurpose the cream city brick, copper cupola, stained glass and other beautiful irreplaceable pieces. We were there for estate sale and were able to get some things for ourselves and others. Beautiful peaceful sight.

The sisters have lived here since the 1800s. What a beautiful and peaceful place! They must be so sad to have to leave for their new residence at Mount MaryI missed the open house by one week but they allowed me to walk the grounds.Sadly, "developers" will start demolishing some buildings very soon.

We attend Mass at 11:15 AM with the retired Sisters of ND. Different priests come on each day Monday through Friday. Lovely chapel. Organ, piano and hymns to accompaniment. Very nice and a warm welcoming atmosphere.
