Our night nurses were amazing. Unfortunately the nurse who discharged us was rude and stingy about grabbing formula for us. Would only bring 2 bottles at a time. When it was time to leave my husband forgot her car seat over so we used the hospital baby receiving blanket. Our nurse said we weren’t allowed to take it. It a was raining and cold outside. We had our first child at Aurora and our experience was a lot better our nurses gave us plenty to take. Bellin couldn’t even spare a tiny old blanket for our baby. Ridiculous.

Irritating, uncomfortable, and stressful. A couple of nurses were great, some were awful. I would not have another baby here.

Birth is a hard thing for anyone to go through. I really enjoyed my whole birth experience. They read my birth preferences and took them seriously, offering all the support they could to help me achieve my goals in a realistic way! The staff were all wonderful and so kind and accommodating, always asking if I needed anything. The food from the cafeteria was great, and even the people on the other end of the phone taking the orders really seemed like they cared! I just really appreciated the level of care, concern, and respect for my wishes that was shown. I will be back with any other labor and deliveries we go though. Thank you!

My wife and I were here twice, both times the nurses went above and beyond to make sure that my wife was as comfortable as can be. My daughter is in the nursery wt the moment after having an episode where her breathing stopped and her blood pressure dropped. The nurses knew exactly what to do to stabilize her. I have nothing but the up-most faith in the staff there. They are all highly skilled and talented women.

Don't send me links or tell me you'll make it right. My wife got a botched epidural two times in one night. The entire side of her body was feeling all of the pain. They made her feel like she was an inconvenience for asking for help. They had the bed side manner of drill sargents, save for two nurses. The building is a hellscape.

Had a wonderful relaxing birth of my first and only child here. Great staff, great doctors, midwives, and nurses. Very happy with everything Bellin offered. The nurse was even nice enough to take our photo leaving the hospital. Not once did I ever feel unsafe for my baby or myself.

A word of warning to whoever decides to give birth here. Once you deliver, please keep your baby with you at all times. Just because they are nurses doesn't mean they will love and care for your child. I had the most horrible experience with a nurse in particular - one of the lactation nurses. After my wife gave birth and our baby was swaddled in her mobile crib to be taken to the nursery, the nurse grabs all her belongings (paperwork, clipboard, stethoscope, etc) and DROPS all of that on top of our baby and strolls away with her. Knowing that I was at the mercy of this nurse and others like her for the next 3 days, I didn't say a word. After coming home with our baby, I later called the grievances hotline, but all you will get is a letter saying they will be undergoing training. As a human being, I've never once had to be trained on how to treat another human being and in this case a newborn baby. A newborn baby is not a desk or table where you just throw things on them. I deserve more than a letter, I deserve a personal apology and explanation from said nurse. If a hospital feels the need to train staff on not using patient's babies as their personal desk, I question Bellin and their entire baby unit. There are so many other issues that I had with all the other nurses, but this one was the worse. So please, go elsewhere but if you decide to come here, please keep your baby with you at all times.
