In short, I can't possibly recommend this shop to anyone. They added significant cost and scope to my repair (more than tripling the cost) without ever talking to me, charged very high markups on materials (more than market value based on other quotes for the same scope), and had my car for 1 week when it was supposed to be 1 day without ever calling to tell me it would take longer even after I called to check in on the car.I originally called ahead to schedule a brake and engine service. Regarding the brakes I asked for and was quoted pads, rotors, and sensors - and the price seemed reasonable. I was told the service would take a day, possibly a little bit more (the engine oil leak being a bit more time consuming) and was told if I could drop the car off the night before that would be helpful. I dropped it off the night before and never heard from the shop the following day (Thursday). I finally called Friday around midday after not hearing anything and spoke to Karl, the owner, who I had been communicating with for everything. He said he was going to check the status and put me on hold. The call was disconnected on their end before he got back to me. I waited, expecting a call back, but no call ever came the rest of the day so I was without my car for the weekend with no information. On Monday morning I called first thing, expecting to be able to pick up the car. I was then told it wouldn't be ready till Wednesday at the earliest due to some parts that had to ship. (At that point I was told by the person on the phone - not Karl - that the parts were related to the engine oil leak). This was frustrating due to the fact that my service was scheduled and that I was not even told it would be late once they knew. Unfortunately the experience gets worse. When confronted about the poor communication Karl claimed he thought I had talked to someone else or that someone else would call me back. I found these excuses unacceptable since I had spoken to him and he knew I was looking for my car to be ready and he didn't get back to me.When I picked up the car Wednesday I noticed the bill was much higher than anticipated. I was quoted $600 for my brake pads, rotors, sensors, and labor. The actual price for that scope was more like $680, but that's not the issue. I also noticed two calipers on the bill for $690 EACH, plus more labor, so my $600 quote became close to $2400 (another respectable shop quoted $1400). No one ever let me know this was happening which I find unacceptable. Needing calipers is one thing, but to not call someone when you more than triple their bill unexpectedly is just unacceptable in my opinion. Unfortunately Karl was not present when I picked up the vehicle. When I did talk to him the following week I was told that he thought he had quoted calipers so he didn't call - which then makes the quote of $600 outrageous. Frankly, I found his explanation and excuses hard to believe and inadequate, like the explanation regarding the lack of communication on when my car would be ready. Then Karl stated he would have to check the original quote (he still believed calipers had been discussed - I am certain they were not) to see, but when we spoke again he said that his system didn't show him that information. In addition, the prices charged for materials, especially on the calipers was hard to swallow. I appreciate that Mike's includes the Napa part numbers on the invoice, but I was charged $690 per caliper when the Napa website lists it at $463. When I asked Karl about this he first told me they charge retail prices, and that internet pricing shouldn't be trusted. I told Karl I was using the Napa website, not some second hand or bargain site and that clearly $690 was not retail. He then said, "Oh well that is our markup," to which I said, "then it isn't retail." He continued to make statements that they can't control pricing and its set by Napa, but I found it all hard to believe given the shallow and inconsistent excuses and explanations persistent th

A co-worker recommended I bring my vehicle here. I would also highly recommend taking your vehicle here. They were quick to get me in. They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I wasn't charged diagnostic time because they found the issues so quickly. I'll be a repeat customer when my vehicle needs it.Services: Transmission

I brought my daughters car in because of a noise in the front end that she was concerned about. The Team at Mike's did a thorough inspection, identified the condition, told of what was needed and the significance of the condition and urgency of repair. We ended up scheduling the repair about a month later and the job was done on time, on budget and the car is running much better. Overall, excellent service.Service: Steering & suspension repair
