Extremely unprofessional staff with little knowledge of what the first appointment would be regarding. Also accidentally was late to the first therapy appointment via virtual and it was after hours and no way to contact. Left a message with no follow up. Called the following day with sincere apology and explained it was not my child’s fault and really felt horrible. It was told there are no rescheduled on missed first appointments. Explained situation and receptionist stated she give therapist the message. No follow up returned. Called again with apology and was told therapist terminated my child’s contract. Explained their should be exceptions to the policy especially during this time with virtual meetings especially after hour virtual meetings. Explained this will impact business and asked what happens if someone was in need of therapy, receptionist stated we would tell the to call ER.

My therapist was mediocre at best. Focused on my past and didn’t help me cope with my problems. When I started feeling worse my therapist told me to see a different therapist. I liked my therapist personally but the treatment plan was very ineffective. A waste of time and money.

Dan was incredibly unprofessional and appeared unqualified to diagnose. I drove about 60 miles one day just to be told I couldn't be seen because he was with another patient. About a month later we had over a foot of snow I called and cancelled was told it was fine as hardly anyone was coming that day, next appointment was similar and it was -40 so my car wouldn't start. Was snidely told that 'they hope my life gets easier' the next week I received a warning for the first appointment in the mail as well as a termination letter. From the get go I shared that I was seeking treatment for autism, he appeared totally unqualified to treat my condition and refused to cover anything but anxiety. When I called distressed that I wasn't getting proper treatment, the receptionist insinuated that I was upset that I couldn't get SSI rather than that I wasn't getting the proper care.

This is my first experience with being accused of being "unprofessional" or "unqualified to diagnose" in my 15 years as a state and nationally licensed psychotherapist. Confidentiality prohibits me from being able to specifically defend myself here, so I will simply say that the best client care is always my and Spectrum Behavioral Health's top priority. I am truly sorry that the reviewer below was so dissatisfied with his experience, but there are inaccuracies and more to the story than what has been posted. I wish him and his family the best moving forward.
