Laurie Van Horn is the most amazing person. I always went through her for all my needs. She left and I stopped coming in for 5 years, I had something come up where I needed to come in for the first time in years and she was there! Laurie is the best employee and bhccu is so lucky to have her. I have never had any issues when working with Laurie, she gets done what needs to get done and is super knowledgeable. All of my questions are always answered.

I opened a business account and a personal account. After a month of having a business account they raised the limit of minimum funds in the account on a monthly basis to charge you a fee. It was $1000 and now it’s $2500. I highly suggest going to BMO Harris - they gave me no hassles. They ran my credit for both. I then received a credit card for $500 with the stipulation that I kept $500 in the account. I was told all I had to do was call and they would remove the hold on my funds. I came in to find that I have to reapply for a credit card and they would then be running my credit again before they would release the funds. Again, this bank is horrible.

In order to get a CHECKING account, they need to run your credit. There is NOTHING mentioned on their website about this. I got denied for this because I didn’t meet their absurd requirements to open a CHECKING ACCOUNT! Why does my credit matter for a checking account?! It is the most ridiculous requirement I’ve ever heard, for a checking account. I will be telling everyone to NEVER use BHCCU.

I was shocked to see that there aren't many positive reviews for this location! I LOOOOVE this location and my family does, too. We are always greeted by friendly faces and served in a timely manner. Thanks, guys! Keep up the good work.

Talked with one lender in person. I was advised I didn't have a chance for a loan. Received a phone call because I did an online application. They advised me that black hawk has a new start program. The person from that department contacted me and couldn't give any help or answers. But I did get an answer of no on the loan. With in first sentence. So much for second chance and the line of helping people

The lady answering the phones last Thursday was genuinely so rude. I wanted to talk with someone else so I asked if there was anyone else that I could be transferred to. She said "I mean I don't really see why you'd need to talk to someone else I basically already answered all of your questions." I asked can I please just speak with someone else. She continued to argue with me that there was no reason to transfer me and refused. WORST customer service I've ever had.
