Ask to talk to a member advisor and they will question you extensively WHY you want to see a member advisor. Even if your answers satisfy them, member advisors usually not available until the following day or even later. Have a problem? They are quick to say "Can't help you." So different from when they opened this branch on the South side of Janesville WI. They used to be welcoming but now, even after more than 5 years of frequently this branch only, they don't even know your name.

Brought a person who just moved to town in to the Court St. location to start a checking account. The front desk person was nice. We were told there was no one there that could start an account and they were short staffed. She checked the other locations and said there was no one at any of them that could help either. Got told to make an appointment and sorry they couldn't help.Went to another bank and walked in and started an account with no problem. I banked with bhccu for many years it is sad to see they will now let a person walk out the door. They never would have let that happen in the past.

Too many roadblocks! Etiquette training for younger employees would be a plus. They are out of touch with handling questions with clients over 50! Bank manager at East Milwaukee St branch was more interested in having all her staff in her office at the end of the day then coming out and talking with my elderly father. Needless to say, account closed and money moved to Johnson Bank. Highly recommend Johnson if you are unhappy at Blackhawk. Blackhawk is not as great as they once were. Or, as great as they think they are. Seems they've lost touch with older clientele.

*in reply to Blackhawk response. NO ONE to date has reached out to us as stated belowThis credit union just is not the same as when we first opened an account back in 1997. The last 2 car loans we got we had to jump through hoops to be approved. I thought it was because our credit scores were lower at the time. But once approved we made on time payments and paid off loans as expected.Fast forward to this month we reached out to them for a new loan because our car engine quit in another state and we now need a replacement vehicle. Well our credit scores are better then they had ever been and we have steady income coming in and here we are again jumping through those hoops and hoping the underwriters make it happen. And the kicker is we tried to get a pre approval and they were giving us this run around about we need to know what kind of car your going to be looking at and the equity blah blah blah. How do we know if we didn't have a dollar amount.I've heard it's the underwriters in this establishment that make it difficult. Their own loan officers have said that.I have often thought we are having issues because we are being discriminated against because of my husband ethnicity. I think this confirms this yet again.Because what establishment doesn't take into consideration a loyal customer of 26 years with checking and savings account with direct deposit, with on time payments and successfully paying off those loans and recently transferring a high dollar cd amount. And also having 3 accounts there as well for our adult children. They must not have extra money to loan because you gotta loan money in order to make money. My dad's credit union in MI is constantly calling him up offering him money and loan options. I've been pre-approved through other avenues for double the amount they quoted us. And the amount they finally did quote us after I pointed it out to them about jumping through hoops and being racially profiled was less then our last amount we actually got.Since having this issue yet again other people have confirmed they have had similar experiences and have left this establishment.I think we will be looking for another establishment and closing all 6 accounts with them. There is such a thing in loan discrimination and that is what I feel is happening. Very frustrating to say the least.Next time you are at the bank ask yourself how many diverse employees do they have here?

I am in the process of switching baking facilities for myself and my son. They make it ridiculously hard to get any kind of professional assistance, don't even follow the directions on the deposit slips when filled out properly, argue that the customers are wrong when you point out mistakes that have been made, its impossible to get any kind of loan through them no matter your score or income, and good luck getting anything done there on a Saturday if you're work hours are the same as their hours during the week. I wish I would have choose a different facility many years ago when I switched from a bank to a credit union because it has been nothing but issues for the last (at least) 5 years.

They have policies they do not let you know about until you see money being moved around your accounts and ask them why they are doing that. It is stated nowhere in the contract I signed. They are not transparent with their customers and are rude.

*UPDATE, been over a week and I still have not heard anything from this “director of member services” still the worst bank I’ve ever usedSo if you like banks that steal money from kids look no further.I started an account for my son when he was 1 year old and have been putting money in the account yearly because I have been trying my best to save up for my son to give him a good start in life. Well it turns out they have been taking out $10 every month out of my, now 3 year olds sons, saving account. I know every bank is different but this is ridiculous. Taking out $10 every month for the last 2 years and I had no idea until today when I went to put some money in. I will also be closing my personal accounts very soon. Absolutely ridiculous. I’m sick to my stomach. He should’ve had over $500 easily in his account and I checked today and he had $230.

Literally the WORST bank ever. So I have been using this bank since around 2017. The first couple of years I never really had a problem. In the summer of 2020 all of a sudden my debit card isn’t working. There is no damage or anything. I call customer service and they said “I called to order a new card”. I tell them I did NOT do that and I still have the card right next me. It is not lost, stolen, or damaged at all. It was practically new. After this incident I was so frustrated because I was living in a town with no BHCCU banks near by. So I decided to switch to chase. Just a month ago I was like let me give them another try. I go into the court street location and ask for a replacement card. Not one teller told me I would be getting charged for their mistake in the past. I activate my card and see I got charged for it. No notice or anything! So unprofessional.

Just an AWFUL bank. I recently graduated from college, and we used money from an educational account set up years ago to help pay for some of my schooling. Blackhawk Community Credit Union tried telling my family and I that it was transferred in as a different type of account despite all of our paperwork and receipts saying otherwise. There were extra fees for taking the money out of this other type of account. They refuse to admit when their programming is faulty, and apparently have no way to manually override it.Another situation I had was with a credit card bill. I have had the credit card for over 3 years, and the money always came out of my checking account, because that’s how it was set up. One random time Blackhawk CCU decided to take the money out of a savings account that only had the minimum in it at the time, and charged me a NSF fee. I called my credit card company and they assured me 3 SEPARATE TIMES that they only had my checking account information, but BHCCU was adamant about the money coming out of the savings account so that they could charge the NSF fee.Sketchy service, awful customer service, and absolutely no will to retain customers. I would NEVER recommend anyone to go with Blackhawk Community Credit Union as their bank.

Ask for permission to run my credit. I did not give permission and still ran my credit!!! After speaking to 1 employee and 3 managers, no resolution was provided to me other than "I talked to the employee"Talking to the employee does *** resolve my decreased credit score. Website is very hard to use to make a payment from an external account.
