The rental I had was the 2022 Honda HR-V. Fantastic on gas, the car was clean, tank was full, it had a toll pass. The gentelman working was very friendly and informative.

Needed a one-way month-long rental to travel across the country. Wish I could remember the name of the guy working but whoever was working at 9:30 AM on August 26 is the best! Great guy, great communication, gave us a beautiful upgrade and couldn’t be more thankful to him! Thanks so much! -The Frys

Don’t rent from this business. It was a joke from the start. Made my reservation online and paid, no problem. Get an email saying something about debit card vs credit card for deposit for certain vehicles. I called the number to confirm that our vehicle didn’t need a credit card (we don’t have one, only debit). Was told only airport locations require a credit card. I asked even for the standard elite suv? And was told no, debit card is fine. Get there to pick up the car and sure enough needed a credit card. Good thing my father in law waited there with me and he had one. Their machine couldn’t swipe the card, and couldn’t type in the card number? Must be ancient equipment? After trying numerous times it finally worked. I asked if we can return it Sunday afternoon. He said it needed to be returned by 1 since they close at that time, even though there is a key return box? Anyways, we decided we didn’t want to cut our short trip even shorter just to get the car back before they closed, so I called the customer service, went through the ridiculous automated system, finally got to a human and asked how to go about extending my reservation a day longer (even though we only needed a couple hours longer). Was told I would be charged $84 for an extra day. Ok fine no problem. When it came time to return it I have my father in law meet me there (this location is 20 min away from our house) during the business hours posted and listed online. It was around 3pm. There’s is a handwritten sign on the door saying “Sorry for the inconvenience. Be back in an hour.” No time listed so who knows what time an hour would be. I have things to do, kids to get to practice. So we left the vehicle there, took the keys with me. Ran home to drop my father in law off, get the kids dinner and ready for sports. Go back to the rental office at 4:40 (they close at 5) and STILL the handwritten sign on the door and no one inside. There was another angry gentleman on the phone with customer service and he said he had been waiting for awhile, also said another couple people had come and gone angrily as well. I get on the phone to customer service to figure this out. I don’t want to be charged yet another day since we are already paying for a day we didn’t really need it. I tell the customer service rep the story, they get my info and then say I need to talk to a specialist and they transfer me. So next person I tell them info, tell them the story and they say I need to talk to a specialist and transfer me AGAIN. And then AGAIN. By the 4th person and 25 min in, I left the keys hidden in the vehicle and left. The 4th person I talked to I asked right away if they were a specialist and got somewhere I guess. Gave me a case number for o confirm my return and left it at that for the night. Today I get an email of confirmation of my return. Plus saying I owe $133, including a $20 late fee. So I call up customer service, go through the hideous automated system to get to a person and she basically says nothing can be done. I returned the vehicle late. Even though I called ahead and was told it would be $84 and no mention of late fee. Even though I wasted time and gas going back and forth because of their rental office being “closed”. I understand things happen and come up but they didn’t even try to make it right. I will never use this company again.

If you're returning here, be sure to stay and make sure they check in your car! Otherwise it can take silly corporate phone calls and 3-5 business days to get the 'extra hour' cost refunded back because they took their time checking the car in... and then it charges you as 'late' when in fact you were on time.

Booked a truck online for pick up. Showed up to location and door was locked. Person came to door and wouldn't rent me a truck after we drove 2.5 hours to pick it up. Horrible customer service.

Affordable... Or, at least I thought. Rented a truck from them a couple of years ago to move halfway across the country. $1200. Things didn't work out, so I moved back. Except this time around I paid $300...? Why did you charge me $900 more the first time around? Absolutely ridiculous how they set their pricing. Only thing I enjoyed about them was the gentlemen at the Janesville, WI location are very kind and professional. I appreciate them and their excellent work. I just wish the company wouldn't be so greedy when there are a lot of struggling folks out here. And this was all around the time CORONAVIRUS was hitting the country and folks were really struggling. I don't care if other companies charged similar prices at that time. These large corporations only care about money, and they would have been just fine if they would have charged half of what everyone else was. They don't maintain their vehicles very well, but they're very quick to charge you for any little scratch or scuff on their trucks. I shouldn't have to stop and put oil in half-way through an 800 mile trip. And the alignment being off really made it difficult to drive that distance without swerving all over the road and looking like a rookie driver. I did not feel safe at all driving the truck, and it was only a 12' truck. And no cruise control? Really?! Absurd. No reason you can't and shouldn't implement cruise control, especially when all of your trucks are governed to go no faster than 75 mph.

The people were great and with our Costco membership the rates were good. We had a 12 foot truck...and I was surprised that the truck seemed so low. Even though it was about the size of a pickup....the clearance could use some heavier cargo coils. You had to be super careful and slow pulling in and out of ant driveway.

Don’t rent from these scammers!Had an appointment here to rent a vehicle on 10/27, they were running behind so I had to take a vehicle that was just returned and therefore not cleaned before renting to me. I drive to California and returned the car with NO damage at Los Angelas Airport on 11/01. I received my bill on 11/02 and was charged $753 MORE than I was supposed to be charged. I had to call and email multiple times for weeks, and then eventually threaten to go to the police before they finally figured it out and admitted to their mistake and took it off my bill. Then I received a letter on 12/09 that there was damage found to the vehicle on 10/27 (The day I rented it, not the day returned) and that I’m responsible for paying $255 for “calibration cost”. Not only was there absolutely no damage to the vehicle when I returned it, but they’re trying to charge me for damage found the day I rented it. Clearly, they’re running a shady business and are hoping people will just pay these bills without question. I’ll be reporting these scams to the Better Business Bureau.EDIT: Now today on 12/16 I received another letter stating that I’m being charged for “Smoke smell” as well. I don’t even smoke. They’re just trying to find something to keep charging me.

Have used Budget almost exclusively for the last several years. Mostly rental cars, but two moving trucks in the last 3 years. Always had a good experience until a couple of weeks ago. Rented a moving truck to go from Wisconsin to Colorado. Two hours from our destination, the truck started sputtering and the check engine light came on. Called roadside assistance and waited in 100 degree weather on the interstate for him to tell me it needed new spark plugs. In my experience, spark plugs are part of routine maintenance. The sticker in the truck said last maintenance was 10K miles ago. There was another sticker on the key tag that listed mileage of 4k miles ago but it did not say if it was maintenance or something else.Customer service stated they could not give me any information about last service on the vehicle or when/if the spark plugs were changed. Finally, they told me to contact the location I rented from (Janesville). I left a detailed message two days ago and have not heard a word from them.

Absolutely terrible. Took the truck home and the battery was completely dead. Had to wait forever for roadside assistance to come. The quote they gave me was not the actual total at all. Thought I was getting a good deal with Budget since my quote was $190 and with all the fees they added on by the end of it I was charged $320. Just absolutely terrible company. Would’ve been $75 cheaper if I went with U-Haul and that’s including U-Hauls insurance coverage. Their customer service was absolutely no help at all either. DO NOT GO TO BUDGET.
