I'd say this is what I would call ur "basic" dollar tree,it is a decent sized store for being a dollar tree, but 1 thing I would say is if ur not raised or is used to living in the hood, ghetto, down the block type places then u probably shouldn't waist ur time.

I love the dollar tree. They save me so much money on things like birthday balloons and gift bags, things of that nature. I also find they get random items so you never know what deal you will find. The lines are almost always SO long is the worse thing about the place.

It is within walking distance convenient, lines get long but no worries, if you are saving a bunch of money why complain?

This store never has anything on the shelves. The store is dirty. The assistant manager Jodie is rude and unprofessional. I have called to ask if they had certain items and Jodie would answer my question rudely then hang up on me even though I had another question. I will not shop at this store as long as she is there.

Friendly staff, but it's such a high traffic area that it is frequently out of products.

If I could give 0 stars I would Assistant Manager Jodie Hart. Was rude and did not do what a manager should when someone asked for their personal information back. She scoffed off someone asking for her tax information back. Not once did she ask us to leave, but when we looked through the trash she came up recording and saying she had asked us to leave which she hadn't until the police came in. She threatened me with a box cutter. After telling us she wasn't in violation of anything. She refused to even look or talk to the employee who had last touched the tax information. Withholding personal information from the person it belongs to is a felon and violation of HIPAA. Until Jodie is no longer working there I will never be using this establishment again.

Walked into a mess! Items scattered and disorganized and items on the floor. Seemed like No management was around.

I came here to get Halloween craft items for DIYs on YouTube. There's only one aisle of items which is also shared with Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) items. As you can see from the pictures I posted, this aisle is pretty sad, with none of the items I needed for my DIY project. The Dollar Tree on Milton Avenue was a little bit better but not by much. I've been checking both Janesville Dollar Trees for Halloween items this year and I have to say I'm really let down. They used to be very reliable for plastic skulls and skeletons, rubber rats, plastic crows, spider webbing and "creepy cloth". I've had to purchase those items online because none of my stores carry these basic items. Before you judge my critique for "looking too early" for Halloween items, I was informed by an employee that this was the end of the Halloween season at Dollar Tree and their next shipment will be Christmas items.

Was shocked to see a sparesly stocked store. Shelves all in disarray or empty. Stuff on floor. Dirty. Front door was sealed shut with plywood cause glass broke out. I heard a rumor later that day when I brought up how it looked that this location is being closed. Dont know if true, but I wont bother going back to this location. Will go to the one on the north side of Janesville.

This is one of the weirdest Dollar Trees that I have ever been to. Clearly built in what used to be a Walgreens or CVS, with the drive thru still attached on the side (but not in use), walking in here was a bit disorienting the first time, since it felt like it should be a pharmacy but it was most definitely a Dollar Tree. They're frequently out of stock of things, and don't carry many things that I've seen almost all DTs carry, (such as frozen veggie spring rolls; their one good frozen food! ) but this gripe isn't just by me. Any time I've been in here I've heard other customers say things like "damn, they're out of x again, like always" or "sheesh, this store doesn't even carry y". But you will find some interesting things here. I've never seen so many face masks in one before, even much larger ones!! Recently someone threw a rock at one of the doors, which I guess wasn't made of very sturdy material, because it's all boarded up on one side now and you have to round the corner to enter. Hopefully they'll fix that soon. I do appreciate that they do carry a few beeswax free/accidentally vegan lip balms for $1.25. That's a bonus for me! Currently they have two varieties of Palmer's Coconut (I didn't even know there was a second one!) in the health aisle, and three varieties of balms in little pots shaped like macaroons in the cosmetics aisle; I bought the one titled "mint to be", and honestly even though it's not very minty, for $1.25, I can't complain too much. Where else am I going to find such a thing around here? That kind stuff is $5+ on Amazon! Sadly, with Covid high on the rise again, I hate that literally every time I've gone here the sanitizer at the front of the store is empty. Is it empty or broken? I don't know. But they could at least crack open a bottle of their store brand and tape it there. C'mon. It can't be a coincidence that every single time there's no sanitizer! I went today, and while waiting for my mom to finish checking out I stood outside the front, put some sanny on my own hands, then offered some to everyone going in or coming out, and tbh, everyone seemed really grateful! It felt nice doing a good deed, sanitizing four adults and a cute little boy, but I'd also love for Dollar Tree to get on top of this so that the majority of the time when I'm NOT standing outside offering my own, people can still immediately sanitize before and after! Just my two cents.
