Took my ferret here for checkup and distemper shot. First visit was great! Schedule a second visit just to get a distemper booster ONLY! They didn’t bother another checkup I didn’t ask for and charge me for it. I ONLY SCHEDULE a booster, why the hell did you do a second wellness that I did not schedule and then charge me for it! Ripoff!

All about the money since the day I brought my dog there. Was the first vet I went to when I moved here 2.5 years ago and they are constantly trying to sell sell sell. When I brought him to have a check up on his paw he had a spot he kept licking on his paw that swelled up a bit, they did a lab test and nothing come of it and I had them check during at least three visits yet they never were able to figure it out so my poor puppy had to deal with limping for a good few months, all they gave was an antiseptic which I had already been giving him some at home. I’ve grown up with 5 dogs and our hometown vet never put a muzzle on any of our dogs like they do here. They wanted me to give my dog a muscle relaxer to bring him in because he’s energetic and likes to see people I feel it’s more that they don’t know how to handle bigger dog breeds than his excitement. They wouldn’t prescribe him a 6month tick and heart worm medication for my dog because he was 10lbs over the specific weight for his size trying to get me to purchase the large dose and the small dose. ($80 a month just for tick and flea) (Next month he could be under that weight). ($$$) better to have some meds than no meds imo and if given to much tick and flea medicine that could be very bad! When I told the lady I would switch vets I asked her to send his records to my email and she hung up when I was asking if they had my email on file. So I called the vet back and spoke with the receptionist to make sure they had it on file, they didn’t have it on file! That vet is all about their money and could care less about your dog. Will absolutely be finding another vet to go to, after the experience here! Highly do not recommend this clinic at all costs if you love you animals!!!

Dr. James is the most caring best vet. I will only have her take care of my pets. I made the mistake of allowing blood work up to be done by another and my girl collapsed and never recovered. Dr. James helped me with giving her a couple more weeks. I am devastated to lose my best friend, thirteen years was not enough time.

I can’t say enough great things about Birch Bark! The entire team is compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly cares about the well-being of every pet that walks through their doors. They’ve taken excellent care of my two dogs, always going above and beyond to make sure they’re comfortable and healthy.
The office is clean, well-organized, and runs efficiently without making visits feel rushed. My dogs actually enjoy coming here, which speaks volumes about the kind and gentle approach of the team.
I highly recommend Birch Bark to anyone looking for a trustworthy and skilled vet. Thank you for everything you do!

I've had the honor of being a client at Birch Bark Veterinary Care since they opened. My pets are always SO well cared for when we come in for our routine visits and emergencies. If they are unable to accommodate us in the schedule that day they are so helpful in getting me records quickly when I needed to go to Blue Pearl. Veterinary care is an important and necessary part of owning pets, its expensive and it hard to trust other folks to help you make decisions. BUT the team at this clinic makes all of that easier to bear. Thank you is never enough for all that you ladies do for this community!

My experiences have always been amazing! From the time we walk in the door to the time we leave. Everyone is amazing! My only suggestion would be to have one day that has extended hours. Such as a Monday to accommodate anything that may happen over the weekend or for those that work during regular clinic hours. I would support at least Monday 7-6. That would be very helpful!

Birch Bark exceeded expectations, and that's after being a client of another veterinary clinic for over 30 years with our pet bunnies. Kind, compassionate and knowledgeable staff.

They did not take my feelings or concerns into consideration when my dog was having horrible side effects from the medicine. I will never be returning here again.

I didnt exsperience good interactions when speaking with staffing. Everything felt very cold and uncaring mostly because a difference in opinion on whats best for my dog, which I dont believe should change how you speak to or interact with a client. I also had some red flags with pricing on procedures that gave me the impression birch bark is a vet that gives you a quote that yes is subject to change with any procedures but when you pick up your animal are then hit with a double or more, payment owed then you planned for. I personally wont go to vets like that been there too many times and have a vet currently who ive never been played like that by. So they are out there! If you are someone who has religious or cultural beliefs that influence how you care for your animal this clinic is not for you. If you are someone who does research and isn't clueless on animal health and medicine this clinic isnt for you because they seemed to not like me over my vet schooled knowledge ( they didnt know where my knowledge came from) and cultured advocated wants for my animal. The entirety of interactions changed with everyone spoken to and the annoance was blatant.
Psa the united states is not a top country for best veterinary care.
At the end of the day im not indicating on the capabilities of the actual vets and their medical capabilities as i did not go far enough nor wanted to , to exsperience that .

If I could give zero stars I would. I would not recommend this veterinarian to my worst enemy. Since the first time I walked into the clinic, it's been problems. I inquired about my kitten not having hair on its tip of its tail and the vet used a black light on it with the lights on and she deamed it not ringworm. Well 2 weeks later I had spots on me. Then she wanted to treat them for ringworm. Now they have spread it in my house and she wanted me to basically drown my kittens in the worst solution possible. They are now on their 3rd round of antibiotics and antiviral and have puked every time I give it to them. They don't care about the client only making money. This has been the worst vet I've been too. Not only am I treating my kittens my other cat has ringworm as well. I've spent so much money on these cats when it could have been different if they would have tested them for ringworm. Not to mention, every time I want my cats tested for ringworm its 91 dollars per sample. And then have to test them 2 times. Both need to be negative. My advice find a different vet.
