Pettibone Park is a huge, gorgeous park right on the river connected to the beach. It is a great place to picnic with plenty of space, covered picnic tables, and fire pit structures. It offers a beautiful and peaceful place to walk, run, bike, or play disc golf among giant old trees. The park provides good fishing from several fishing docks with railings and pole holders, as well as easy shore access. It features two beaches, volleyball, and opportunities for kayaking and other water sports, with rentals available. The main beach is very well kept up. It is a great alternative across the river from La Crosse, not likely to be overcrowded. The park has a porta potty, but the main beach house is never open. It is dog friendly in areas, though dogs are not liked at the big beach. There is no playground. It is definitely worth checking out on a beautiful day to unwind and enjoy nature.
Nice riverside park, probably see some bald eagles.

The park is beautiful and it's a wonderful place along the river to just hike or picnic or hang out especially in the fall. I went there to fish though and it was very crowded at all the spots that I normally go to. There's probably 10 or 12 spots that I couldn't get to any of them cuz it was a lot of fishing people there.
