“The attention to detail in this place is ?. I feel like this place is a home. Its so comfortable and quiet. Everything was clearly thought about with great care and intention. The smell when you walk in the door, the gentle jazz music, the muted but rich colors... its located in a very busy park but when youre in your room you dont feel all the buzz of the outside world. Youre just in a warm inviting space. This isnt just a place to sleep like big box hotels. This is a place to live. This is a place to unplug.”
“Let’s start with level of customer service we received. It was unprecedented. Not a single employee there that didn’t know everything about the party, there was no passing the buck or “I’ll have to check with the manager” they were constantly around to help, asked to pitch in and had a portion of the venue set up exactly how we wanted it before we even arrived. The bartenders were friendly attentive and even helped out with the decorating before the party started.
The venue. We hosted a baby shower there, the ambiance was perfect. It’s obviously stunning and honestly if we hadn’t wanted to decorate the table runners, candles and ceiling lights would have been more than enough to make our mamma to be happy while also thinking we spent hours setting up. Every guest there talked about how beautiful the venue was. We can not rave enough about this venue and will keep it in mind for every big event we throw in the future. Worth every single penny we spent.”
“Pogy’s catered our 40th class reunion. We were able to give a final headcount close to the event, which was nice. The food was absolutely delicious! They made the entire process easy. I would highly recommend them!”
“I just got married here September 20th and it was nothing short of perfect! The staff were all so great to work with. Kim answered any questions I had leading up to the day promptly, and met with us whenever we needed! Mel decorated the space beautifully, and took exactly what I was thinking and laid it out perfect! Even with the chance of rain that day, I was constantly reassured that they had a plan and would be able to change the space if needed. Blue Moon catering was amazing, and we got so many compliments! The bartenders were great and accommodating for the rehearsal dinner and day of. I couldn’t have picked a better venue as I did not have to worry about a thing all day! The only thing I would mention is just to be aware of the space when you are looking at venues! We were okay with our guests being split between the barn/tent space and the walk to the bathroom, but I know that isn’t for everyone. I would highly recommend Magnolia Sunset Event Venues to anyone!”
“My daughter got married at Fox Hollow Event Center this past weekend, and everything was perfect! Chelsee was an absolute joy to work with throughout the entire planning process. As a mother of the bride, I had plenty of questions, and she was always patient and quick to respond. Her professionalism and attention to detail ensured that everything ran smoothly, and she went above and beyond to make my daughter’s day truly special. The banquet staff on the day of the wedding were also incredible—our family and friends couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the food and service were. I highly recommend Fox Hollow to anyone planning a wedding in the La Crosse area.”
“My mom and I went to Rumba dance lessons. We were only able to stay 45 minutes of the 60 minute session, before we needed to help my grandma. It was nice to get out for a little bit. They were so welcoming and friendly! We will definitely go back!”
“Great location. Staff were hit and miss. Bathroom renovation looks amazing. Smells a little on the floors. View on the river was incredible especially when it snowed.”
“Stayed for 1 night and was good for the short term stay. Spacious and clean. Kitchenette was nice. It had a glass induction stove that seemed a bit confusing to use (maybe the staff would’ve been helpful if I’d asked, but it didn’t matter since I only was staying for a night and wasn’t cooking). There was a slight, but noticeable buzzing noise from the fridge.
The bathroom was ok: there’s a toilet seat cover, water pressure could’ve been stronger but it was tolerable, and few strands of fine blond hair on the shower wall that was missed. Also, there was some shaved beard hair in the bathroom drawer… not the worst thing that I’ve come across but would’ve been nice if that was cleaned up prior to staying the night.
The room I stayed in was facing the road and I could hear road noise (specifically motorcyclists when they ride past). It’s not the quietest room/location, but it might be quieter if you get a room facing away from the road.”
“10/10 My husband and I just had our wedding at Pettibone Resort on September 20th. It was everything we had dreamed of and more! Kristin was so welcoming, very organized, and attentive to every detail we had planned for our big day! We had to reschedule our entire wedding just months before our date and we are so glad Pettibone Resort had an opening. Kristin made the transition very smooth and played a very important role in making our day one we will cherish forever.”

“First time booking with them. The only complaint we had was when we got to our room, there was kid prints on the window and makeup or food all over the window sill where the AC was. We said something to the front and they got it cleaned quickly. If you have kids I would recommend front rooms at hotel where the pool is because of the bar in the back we wish we would have had a back room by the bar.
update: If you are kid free you will want a room not connected to the pool room we heard kids yelling as early as 730am the last 2 mornings we where booked. They had a laundry mat about $5-$6 to do one full load was pretty clean. washer and dryer worked good. they had vending machines.”
“As a September 2026 bride, one thing I’ve learned during wedding planning is that choosing a venue that helps with everything is worth more than you realize. I originally chose a beautiful venue… but that’s basically all I got, a venue. After that I had to find everything else: hair stylist, makeup artist, DJ, caterer, cake, cupcakes, decorations, a wedding planner… the list goes on. Planning a wedding this way has been a lot of work and honestly pretty stressful. You see all these TikTok videos that make planning your own wedding look so easy, DIY decorations, budget hacks, and weddings planned for super cheap. It looks great online, but when you actually start planning, you realize how many vendors you need to coordinate and how easy it is to forget things.
Looking back now, I truly wish I had chosen Celebrations On The River. I originally looked at Celebrations On The River because the venue is absolutely beautiful, and even just walking through the space during the tour, you can tell that they have weddings down to a science and truly know how to take care of couples. At first the price made me a little nervous because I thought I could plan my own wedding for less. But once you start adding up vendors, decorations, food, and everything else, you realize it adds up quickly anyway.
One thing I didn’t fully think about when choosing my venue was setup and cleanup. At my current venue, my family and I will actually be setting everything up the morning of my wedding and cleaning up our space that same night. If we want extra time to set up the day before or tear down the next day, it costs extra. It’s definitely something I didn’t realize would add more stress to the day. Knowing that Celebrations On The River takes care of those kinds of details for you honestly sounds like a dream come true for a wedding morning.
What makes Celebrations On The River so amazing is that they handle so much of the planning for you, such as food, decorations, coordination, and making sure the whole day runs smoothly. Having professionals take care of those details so you can actually enjoy your wedding day would be priceless. Don’t get me wrong, I love my venue and how it looks, but the amount of time spent researching vendors, making phone calls, and organizing everything has definitely been overwhelming at times.
If I could go back and choose again, I would 100% go with Celebrations On The River without hesitation. Future brides and grooms will thank themselves for choosing a place that helps make the planning process easier. If you’re debating between planning everything yourself or choosing a venue that helps with it all, trust me, the peace of mind is worth it.”
