Fun fact, this is the only place you can buy gas/diesel on the island! Has some other necessities items in their store, including some souvenirs and momentos!

Who thought it could be this easy? Fast, efficient boarding, on-time service, and expert parking assistance (they really pack you on there!). But never fear - you can tell the staff is experienced! Taking a vehicle is not cheap; there is a fee for the vehicle as well as each person in it. However, it was well worth it for our trip to Madeline Island. If you are planning to go anywhere beyond the "downtown" a vehicle or scooter/bike rental on the Island is a must.

To get to Madeline Island, there is a car ferry that leaves from the center of Bayfield and takes about 20 minutes and is a nice ride, with upper level seating for walkons. The frequency in summer and weekends is about every 30 min. but slows later and often terminates at 6PM. The landing is next to LaPointe businesses and close to the museum.

We were able to get onto the ferry without a long wait. It was very easy to purchase round-trip tickets. Pretty quick ride.
