I've owned Chaney Instrument products for well over 30 years. Specifically, AcuRite 5 in 1 weather instruments. These products are reliable and well built except for marine environments. My latest support of the customer is for their outstanding customer service. It wasn't always like this but you will be treated very well by their customer service for all service and technical questions. Great product and service to back it up.

I have a weather station purchase from Kohl's. It stopped working!. I contacted your support and they absolutely refuse to replace it. It is under a full warranty yet. Then I was told by Selene that is not covered by any warranty. Is this the way you want to treat a customer???

Placed an order this morning, realized IMMEDIATELY that I made an order mistake, then immediately attempted to contact them to cancel the order. It was then that I realized, no phone number, no "LIVE" support. I then created a "support ticket" and selected "cancel order" entered order number hoping it would actually happen. This was all within 5 minutes of placing order. Then I placed another correct order. In the afternoon was notified that BOTH my orders shipped. In the order shipped email there was a phone number for the company. Called number, got an automated message to go online for support. That was all. There is no way to contact company, no "live" support online, and apparently their support requests go into a bit bucket never to be looked at by a human.Update: As stated below they did reach me via email and offered a remedy to my situation. But not having any feedback that their office was closed and not offering any off hours support is still frustrating in these circumstances. I wish they take all the feedback to heart and not make the customer feel so distant from their assistance. E.g. No phone support or after hours online support.

What an amazing company! I'm so thrilled with the extremely fast delivery of an order I placed for a Christmas gift, the What-To-Wear Weather Station for our grand-daughter. I placed the order at 11:00AM on Friday and received a confirmation stating, your item has shipped at 3:00PM that same afternoon. The pkg was delivered to my front door on Sunday afternoon. WOW!! Carefully wrapped and sealed in appropriately sized outer box. I'm just so amazed & thrilled! She is going to love this weather station/alarm clock. She is at the age of learning and gaining more independence. I'm just thinking of all the helpful learning aspects for her. Independence, self-esteem, decision making, time management, science related to the climate she lives in, setting & gaining good sleep pattern with alarm clock, organizational skills, wow, I'm just so excited to give her this amazing gift! Thanks Chaney Instruments for producing this amazing educational tool. Thank you for your AMAZINGLY fast delivery service. You are doing EVERYTHING right!! Kudos

I haven't been able to set up the weather station as of yet, but it looks pretty nice and assume at this point, it will do what we expect. The big issue which is a deal breaker, is the dismal tech support! You can't talk to anyone. You have to spend 90 minutes typing back and forth on "chat" when it could have taken only 10 minutes over the phone if even that. Your other option is to fill out a support ticket on their website and then sit around and wait for a call back days later. God forbid it's on a Friday!!! This is absolutely unacceptable customer service for a company today. Again, thus far no issue with the equipment (because I can't get it set up due to terrible support) but this is something they can fix immediately with a change of policy.

Worst support for their products in the history of mankind. Their chat and email support channels are never answered. A support phone line is non-existent. Never buy any of their products from AcuRite or other Primex family owned businesses. Buyer beware!

Bought an Atlas weather station, about $200 with lighting indicator and base screen, initially the temperature sensor didn't work, they sent me a part at no cost.I have had various issues with it I was able to correct on my own.Now the sensor keeps failing to transmit. I emailed support, sent them pictures and my reply was "everything looks good, no corrosion, if the problem persists, you will need to buy a new one". After owning two acurite weather stations, I think my next one will be La Cross, or Oregon Scientific. These should last at least a few years.

We have had nothing but a good experience with Chaney staff and our AcuRite Atlas weather station. We live on a farm and rely on localized, accurate weather data all the time. Our station came super easy to setup out of the box. I think it was up and running within an hour. The indoor information screen is very easy to read and provides all of the necessary info we need. The accuracy seems correct when comparing it to other local stations. We also set our station up to work on Weather Underground's network. This was a really interesting thing to do and is fun to share our weather data other local farmers who use it to monitor their nearby fields. Unrelated to Chaney or AcuRite, the only challenge in the whole process was waiting for Weather Underground to have our station "go live". It took about a week before we saw data. Again no fault of AcuRite or Chaney, just wanted to note it for others who might want to do the same with their station. I would highly recommend getting one of these stations from Chaney Inst., as we are more than satisfied with ours!

Oh did you need help with your product? tough. there is not one human to speak with, either on the phone or through live chat. every number you can find online related to this company or it's affiliates has been disconnected including the one listed above by yelp. as previous reviews stated, live chat does not work. the BBB also rates this company very poorly. i do not recommend.

Been a customer for over 10 years. Their products are not top quality and seem to be getting worse. If you spend hundreds of dollars for a weather station you expect it to last more than 3 years. Called customer support and was stonewalled. Ask for a supervisor and was refused. Did not want a free replacement. Just wanted to be offered a replacement screen for a reasonable cost. Over that last 10 years I have spent close to $800 with this company and their products.Below is the view of their indoor monitor. It will not continue to reset past this splash screen.Goodbye AcuRite, finding another weather station providor.

I won't even give this company a 1 star. I bought a weather station for 74.99 from Weather Shack, an online retailer. I received the weather station 4/1/21. It worked fine for 3 weeks & then stopped working. I called Acurite (the manufacturer). I needed to supply them with an invoice for the warranty. At the time, I didn't remember from whom I bought the unit. I located the company in my bank statements, sent a copy of the invoice to Acurite. After jumping thru hoops for a week, Acurite sent me a replacement unit. When the replacement unit didn't work, I called Acurite again. Again, they made me jump thru hoops. They told me to throw out the first unit & send back to ***************, which I did. They "refurbished" the unit & sent it back to me. I contacted Acurite on June 8, 2021 to let them know that the "refurbished" unit was not working & what did they intend to do with this unit. They responded with what is the unit doing. (more BS). I contacted them to say what was wrong. They haven't responded. It is now 6/18/21; I contacted Weather Shack & they sent me a new unit from a different manufacturer. I told them what I had gone thru w/Acurite. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a new unit from Weather Shack @ no cost to me. I purchased an Acurite outside thermometer 30 yrs. before & it worked like a charm. That's why I purchase an expensive weather station from them. I will never do business with Acurite again. I have only kind words for Weather Shack.

Had an issue with my HD display and waited 2 hours for a response from the online chat support people. Finally gave up. There is no way to contact them by phone for help. I think La Crosse also makes weather stations and hat will be my next purchase.
