Amazing place even in the winter! Went here for a little vacation w the husband and it was amazing. Great view and nice walking trail around the lake. The indoor pool and hot tub were nice too! Rooms had good heat, fridge, microwave, and PLENTY of storage space. Staff were polite and extremely accommodating. Plenty of things to do as well. Highly recommend.

Room is modern compared to most other hotels, had the premium room with balcony and lake view. the room descriptions was accurate and had wooden/vinyl flooring per the pictures. The cove next door shows rooms modern with wooden floors but most are old and outdated and your not guaranteed modern rooms. I highly recommend the room and hotel. Nice and modern.Nearby activities: Downtown shopsWalkability: Short walk to shops and restaurants

I usually only 5 or 1 stars, either you earn a 5 or a 1, this was truly a mediocre place, reception upon check in was a little blah. Almost like I was bothering her to come in. The room was dated, everything looked old and there wasn't even an iron or ironing board. Shower was good, great water pressure. The indoor and outdoor pools are really nice. The biggest allure is the location. It's practically on the lake so that's a good thing. Would I stay there again you ask? Probably if the price was right which it wasn't when I stayed there last. The price would have to knock my socks off for me to stay there again

Only experienced the meeting room in the basement but it was a nice space for meetings. Gave four stars due to parking.

I booked and paid a lake view room through a third party. When I arrived I was told I had a park view room and if I wanted an upgrade it would cost and extra $30 per night. No effort was made to correct the situation even though I provided proof of my reservation. I am so disappointed as it was my getaway this year for my anniversary. I was surprised at the lack of effort even though I have stayed here before and enjoyed the property. I will not do so again.

This hotel was perfect for our weekend getaway. It was in the perfect location. Private parking in the back and it was walking distance from all the shops and restaurants. Our room had a fireplace, balcony and a beautiful view! Not to mention all the little details in the bathroom and a Keurig for our morning coffee. The bed was so comfortable. We especially enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub because it rained a lot while we were there. The hotel also provided pool towels which was super convenient! I definitely recommend Harbor Shores!!!Walkability: Everything was in walking distance. Food, Bars, shopping, Beach!!!Food & drinks: Gino’s East is located in the hotel so that is perfect for a great Chicago style pizza!!!Noteworthy details: I loved that the bathroom included make-up remover wipes and that the hotel provided pool towels!

Got a lake view king on the 2nd floor, great view, but not sure it was worth the extra money considering how much time we were in the room. Agree with other reviews that although they've attempted to update the rooms, there was still an 'old' vibe. That being said, great location... literally walking distance to everything downtown, including the shore path. Conveniently enough, there is a Gino's East located in the property also.

Cute place to stay that’s conveniently located to shopping, restaurants and things to do! I tagged along with my husband on business trip and specifically picked this place for the location. So I could walk around while he had his truck at the golf tournament on the other side of the lake.We called ahead since we were going to be close to midnight checking in and they appreciated the call. Loved the view of the lake even being on the first floor. Little balcony is perfect for 2 people to enjoy their coffee in the morning or just relax and soak up the sunset in the afternoon. Room had 2 queen size beds. Kitchenette with plates, cups etc for 2, microwave, fridge, Keurig, and paper towels. The entry has your place for suitcases and the tiniest baby safe ever. Bathroom had a nice shower with decent water pressure. Towels for 3 people folding nicely along the wash clothes in fan shapes. Nice size TV on dresser with built in fake fireplace. Fireplace gave the room a cozy feel and made a nice night light to get to the bathroom at night. Black out curtains over sliding glass door to balcony. Table for 2 in the corner. The bed was comfy and different types of pillows to choose from. You can hear your neighbors talking through adjoining room door that is blocked. Also we had some late night jumpers above us that only lasted 10 minutes. :) So soundproofing is a little lacking. Parking up front was fine on Monday but Tuesday they put out signs that said pay to park. So we parked in the back of the hotel Tuesday night. All around the area is paid street parking so being able to walk to everything was nice. This isn’t a Hilton or Marriott. It’s an older hotel with updates of furniture and vinyl wood looking floors but the convenience of getting to everywhere is worth not getting the extras you get at a chain hotel. Which none are located in the downtown area. It’s more historical and original like the downtown. No free breakfast here. They have indoor pool and hot tub. Outdoor pool and hot tub with seating and tilt out umbrellas in the corners. Also a gym but I didn’t go down the stairs to see it. The front desk was friendly at check in and check out. They gave us a paper with local restaurants for all 3 meals. You can drop off your keys at the front desk and text to check out if you like. Also at the front desk and all over town you can pick up a magazine with the listing of things to do, lodging, food, etc. and you get get it digitally online before you go or help you pick out when, what, and where to do, stay and eat. It was helpful to look up what restaurants had sports playing to watch the NFL game.Gino’s East pizza is attached to the hotel which we used on Monday night and watched the NFL game at the bar. Nice place to eat. They happily changed one of the TV’s to watch the 8:15 game that came on.I would suspect it would be busier during the peak of summer as we were there in late September. And I would guess the traffic would be noisier with all the coming and going of people and cars. It rained the 2nd day during the day so I stayed in and watched TV.Would stay here again for the convenience of getting to everything.Rooms: Room was spacious and loved having the kitchenette. Microwave to warm up leftovers and fridge to keep drinks cold. Also stocked with plates, utensils, bowls and cups for 2. Also liked the built in fake fireplace. Used it for a nightlight to get to the bathroom and it made the room feel cozier. Clean comfortable beds and pillows. Bathroom was handicap friendly. Enjoyed the balcony in the afternoon sunset over the lake. PeacefulNearby activities: ShoppingRestaurantsWalking trail around the lakeRentals of -paddle boards, kayaks, boats, etc.HistoryBeach on the lakeLibraryBankMuseumsThe RivieraVisitor CenterWalkability: Downtown shopping and food starts right around the corner of the hotel. Which is a plus because all of the main part of town is paid parking and not much since it’s a small area.
