Friendly staff, decent selection especially for a small town market. Produce is commonly well past fresh (and high priced), sushi is good most of the time, but have had multiple bad experiences, too, fish was NOT fresh. Also, you REALLY need to keep an eye on the posted/advertised price versus what you're charged, I've been grossly overcharged on some things (cabbage, on St. Patrick's day) advertised at $.59/lb, charged $3.99/lb. Several more that I've caught, I wonder how many I've missed. I use Lake Mills Market if I need something immediately, but choose other markets when I can.

Great atmosphere and layout of a grocery store! The staff is always offering to help me locate items. There is rarely a line at the checkout unless it's a football Sunday.

On two separate occasions recently, they would not honor a posted price. On both occasions I was told that the price was no longer valid and the employees must have forgotten to take the sale price sticker down. That is a terrible business practice. Honor your posted prices!!!!

The Lake Mills Market WAS Jefferson County's best grocery store until December, 2021 when it was sold to Hometown Grocers, a subsidiary of Festival Foods. The changes began gradually and six months later, there is less organic produce, the deli unfortunately is now on a par with other grocery stores in the area (save for the sushi bar), and the same can be said of both the bakery and cheese counter. In addition, some items have disappeared, perhaps for good. We purchased a good quality Greek olive oil the store stocked for years, purchased duck on a regular basis, and frequently purchased Siggi's yogurt--all are no longer stocked. The same is true for many other items that were simply unavailable elsewhere. Looks like we'll be shopping elsewhere as well.

The Lake Mills Market is an awesome grocery store which offers loads of variety, great fresh meats, produce, liquor and more. Rarely do I not find what I need or want. They also have some great specialty and seasonal items.

The produce department has good quality and variety. The other departments are mostly average to a little above, although the sushi gets high marks for a grocery store. They carry quite a few niche items. Big Con: unfriendly environment.

Lori L. suggested this place for cheese. Sure it's a hour away, but it was well worth the trip! It's a cute little market with all the basics as well as a deli with ready to eat food. The cherse was by the dairy. I got a huge brick of mozarella for $12 and a huge bag of cheddar for $9.99. They also had a huge selection of homemade brats.
