Worst truck rental company ever, they take your Credit Card, and when you cancel the reservation they lie and say the refund and cancellation has to be done by their customer service department. We call customer service they say no should have been canceled there. Run from this company as fast as you can. No will try to help you if they take your credit card. Worst, bad company.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, even if it means going to another city or walking your possessions from point A to point B. This is hands down the WORST business that I've ever given my money to. I rented a cargo van for a day just to clear my garage out and take everything that I could to the recycling center. I ended up driving just over 68 miles, but when I dropped off the truck and got the invoice emailed to me (yes, emailed, they didn't even give me the invoice and finalize the deal when I dropped off the truck) the invoice said that I owed $177 and some change for mileage alone at $.48/mile (my total bill shouldn't have been more than $120, mileage and rental included). This was only 20-30 minutes after dropping the truck off, so I called right away to try to have the issue corrected, and it took me over 10 times calling to get them to answer even though I was just there and knew there were staff. When I finally got through to someone, I explained my situation and asked if they were able to help me out, and the girl on the other end of the line responded with "Um... I don't think so", as if I was making this up. I told her that I have photos of the dash from when I picked up the truck, as well as right before I dropped it off that proved that I didn't make this up, and her response was that "she was new, and didn't know what to do". I asked for someone who would know what to do, and she said there's nobody there until Monday and that I need to call customer service because they would be able to help me quicker. I called Monday (yesterday) another dozen times without any answer even though their own staff and everything online said that they were open. So when I called customer service and told them my story, they asked if they could put me on hold to try contacting the agency, so I told them sure but don't expect an answer and that the girl from the agency told me to call customer service because they would be able to help me quicker, to which the customer service representative replied "ummm, no...". She still put me on hold for a few minutes and came back to inform me that she couldn't get them to answer either. I ended up sending an email to customer service TWICE before hearing anything back, and I'm still working on getting my refund without an end in site.If you value your time, hard-earned money, and sanity then I HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere.

1. I asked about a hand cart I thought I had ordered online. I was told there wasn't one on my order. Whatever, that's cool. I then looked at my bill afterwards and saw that I was charged for one.2. I tried calling like 5 times per day for an entire week and they NEVER ANSWERED ONCE.3. I later saw on my credit card that I was charged based not when I dropped off my truck, but when they checked it in on Monday morning so I was charged for 3 days instead of 1.4. Corporate customer support was ultimately able to help me, but it took about 5ish calls because the local branch wouldn’t answer their calls either. One of the worst customer experiences ever. Avoid at all costs.

DONT WASTE UR TIME. If you want a guaranteed unit, goes else where. Budget rates are marketed at lower price for the reason of not having units available. I made a resv months in advance and when it finally was time to move I called multiple times and when I finally talked to someone to only find out there was no unit. IF I COULD RATE WITH ZERO I WOULD OF

BEWARE! Sergio gave us utterly horrible customer service. We booked a truck online for pick up at the Darwin Road, Madison location approximately 6 weeks in advance. Less than 24 hours before moving day, we received a cancellation notice without warning. I called and spoke to Sergio, the corporate inventory manager, who stated that there were no trucks available from Budget in the entire state of WI and we were out of luck. He said our reservation was not a guarantee per the terms and conditions of the agreement (I don’t see this specifically written anywhere). He offered no apology and displayed zero compassion. Come to find out - on my own I found that ANOTHER, SAME-SIZE TRUCK WAS AVAILABLE AT BUDGET’S EAST WASHINGTON AVENUE, MADISON LOCATION! While our story had a happy ending, it was because our own searching saved us. The absence of effort, remorse, and sympathy on Sergio's part was absolutely unacceptable in my book. We even learned after the fact that not only does he do this often to customers, but also other Budget rental locations ACROSS THE STATE know of his poor reputation. How the company puts up with an employee that seems to lack any semblance of a customer care mentality is beyond me!

Budget clearly has a different definition of “reservation” from your standard dictionary. We planned our out-of-state move with 2 family members flying in to assist with it, and a Budget truck with a trailer for a car and we did this over a month in advance.2 days before the pick up date we received a reminder email with all the details of our reservation. We received a notice that our reservation was cancelled 28 hours before our pickup time and were given no explanation as to why. I had to call to find out that it was due to a lack of any trucks available in the area. What kind of company lets you make “reservations” without actually reserving anything.Budget took an opportunity to make my move easier and actively made it worse. I will never rent from them again until they fix this

Go to PENSKE! They saved our move. This is actually a zero star rating. We reserved a moving truck for an out of state move about a month prior and received an email that our truck was ready 2 days ago. We went to go pick up the truck only to be told by the receptionist that they didn't have a number on file and they had been trying to get a hold of us for weeks. Apparently, they didn't have a truck available. The lady gave us the number to Sergio who was supposed to take care of us and help us find a truck available. We tried to call and the number kept ringing and it hung up. I immediately tried again and it went to voicemail. We then went back inside and told her that the number wasn't working. She called another person and gave us customer service. She also claimed that she was just filling in and normally works at the airport. Sergio then returned our call and we told him that we reserved a truck with a car carrier and that we were not informed that a truck wasn't available. He then said that they had left us a detailed voicemail stating everthing that happened. This had to be a lie because the receptionist just said that they didn't have our number and clearly they had our email bc they communicated that our truck was ready for pick up 2 days prior. After going back and forth with my fiance, without taking blame or apologizing, he finally conceded to trying to find a location that would only have a truck without a carrier for us...2 hrs away from our current location. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! they didn't acknowledge their mistake nor offer a discountPenske had a truck available the same day with a car dolly and gave us a discount after hearing about our horrible experience with Budget Truck Rental.

Booked a cargo van online one day prior to pick up. The website allowed this, but when I arrived there were no cargo vans available. Employee expressed regret. Said it happens all the time and that management does not respond to requests to fix this glitch in the reservation system. Fine. Not the front desk employee's fault. We went to another rental company nearby and made the move planned for that day. Two days later, I see Budget has taken $75 from my bank account FOR A VEHICLE THEY FAILED TO SUPPLY although I had a reservation number. Watch this people. Maybe this "problem with the online reservation system" is a successful scam for Budget and not an oversight after all. Thank you U-Haul for saving our day with an honest and immediate transaction.

Do not trust them to have a truck available! We booked a truck a month in advance for our move to ensure that a truck was available on the days we needed. TWO DAYS before our scheduled move date we got an email informing us that our reservation was cancelled. I called the company and they told me that they no longer had trucks available and there was nothing they could do, but offered to change our reservation date to see if a truck was available at a later date. You know, because it's just super easy to to cancel the closing of a home sale/purchase after everyone is packed up and contracts are signed. Would absolutely not recommend!

STOP OVERBOOKING MOVING TRUCKS AND SCREWING PEOPLE OVER ON THERE MOVES. Reserved a truck over a month in advanced only to get an email 9 hours before picking the truck up saying the reservations were cancelled. Called to find out they had zero trucks available in the entire area and could do nothing to help me. This is very common with budget.

The day before my truck pickup, I was told I was getting a different truck than I wanted and it was going to be an hour late. It was 1.5 hours late the day of which was very inconvenient, and the manager offered to take some money off my reservation but only after returning the truck on the other side of the country. After returning the truck, I called him multiple times over several days but he never picked up or got back to me. I ended up getting some money off by calling corporate.

Made a reservation 3 weeks in advance. They call me 15 hours before I am scheduled to pick up the moving truck to cancel the reservation “we won’t have any truck available for you tomorrow or even within the next week. It doesn’t matter if you made the reservation a month ago we don’t have a truck for you to rent.” If I could give zero stars I would. Go anywhere else with your business or you will be like us, movers hired to move with no way to move.”
