100% non -smoking hotel but my room hurt my throat to breathe. There might as well have been someone smoking a cigar next to me. I was too tired to try to switch rooms but I should have because I couldn't sleep with the smell. Other than that, front desk was a bit curt.

You get what you pay for(minus housekeeping's 5 finger discount).Breakfast consisted of: Apple/Orange Juice, and coffee.Clean as a prison & half as loud.If I could do it again?I would have slept in my car in the cold.

I did not end up staying here. The outside looked clean but the lobby smelled very smoky. There were also some people outside their cars smoking. I ended up going out to the burbs for a hotel there. It did look clean, but the smoke kept me from staying there.

Off of first impression, the rooms and place are outdated, carpet is from the 90s and someone else’s hair all over the bed. There is no checking in early and they say come back later. The lady upfront is alright, talked to someone else on the phone while I was trying to check in (her personal phone). Sucks this place is in I decent location close to a lot of stuff but will never stay here again.Food & drinks: They do not offer breakfast or anything of that sort, as of 13 Oct 2023

Receptionist is the RUDEST I have ever came across. I would never stay at a place where someone treats you so poorly. Sadly her attitude represents the entire brand. Do better!

Location was great for my parents when they needed to get back on the highway to head home after taking me to UW Madison for surgical procedure. What I wasn't expecting was the lack of conversation the front desk lady had with us while checking in, the website doesn't say there is no breakfast and was (I felt) sorta boarder line from being rude and just not caring. See my dad decided last minute to ride along with my mom to take me to the hospital as I've been dealing with a lot of health issues. I forgot to change the # of adults staying in the room and when I said "oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, I completely forgot to change the occupants in the reservation" the lady at the front desk, "yes you did, so how many people are really staying here, 2/3?" This of course was after I told her that the reservation was under my name but my parents would be staying here because I'm going to the hospital @ UW Madison for surgery. I asked if it would be an issue and she ignore me then said give me both your ID's. To top it off my parents woke up to a cockroach on the table. Don't think I'll be staying there when I go down in a couple wks for another scan.

The parking looks new but they painted the spots tight. The guy in the office doesn’t like people like maybe grew up in a village where there weren’t many. Don’t walk bare foot in this place. The carpets are gross. I would bet the sheets don’t get changed. The bathroom was dirty.

Typical & Average Basic Hotel- old but decent room for a cheap price. Nothing fancy but fine for a short stay.

You will note that this place has a preponderance of one-star reviews. I'm sure there are myriad reasons. Here's mine: Disgusting treatment of a guest with disabilities attempting to book a room. Absolutely horrific, as in "You'll be hearing from my lawyer" bad. The person at the front desk was breathtakingly rude. I dropped a friend off there and helped her into the lobby with her bags. She and I both have disabilities affecting our mobility. The handicapped parking spaces were blocked off with caution tape. It seemed they has some construction going on and that's where they decided to park the equipment. There was no parking available close to the lobby entrance, so I winged it, wedging my car into an available area of asphalt and throwing on the car's hazard lights. Thanks for the big FU to people with disabilities, Econo-Lodge!I entered the lobby (that isn't REALLY a lobby because you can't sit there. . . more on that later) envisioning that we could get some help with my friend's bags since we are both old, feeble, and disabled. Upon being "greeted" (and I use the term loosely) by the person at the front desk, I instantly realized "not a chance in hell." Oh, and it gets worse. . . They threw us out of the lobby, I s*** you not, because my friend needed to sit down and catch her breath after schlepping in her bags and to search her handbag for her ID to check in. Apparently people are not permitted to sit in the lobby for some reason. Front desk clerk's associate came out and they both made it clear that we must skedaddle IMMEDIATELY. Why? I beg of you Econo-Lodge management! Why?From the "lobby" (that really isn't a lobby because you can't sit there despite the fact that there are wing chairs and end tables and all that) the place looked fine, but sheesh! I suspect the place is a bedbug farm. I did not (and would not) stay at this joint. Management at the Madison Econo-Lodge needs some schooling on customer service and ADA compliance. Econo-Lodge, I ask you, WTF?lI can confidently assert that this is the most negative review I have ever given any business, and I hope to hell it remains to be. I would like the folks at Yelp to give me back the one star your platform forces me to offer. Econo-Lodge does not merit that.Oh, looky here! I don't need a lawyer! ada.gov/file-a-complaint I know what I'm going to do tomorrow.Bottom line: Econo-Lodge, you suck.

I didn't even go in. The parking lot is a crater farm, and there were people lurking about that appeared to be begging. I didn't feel safe in my car while I looked for another hotel, no way would I feel safe in a room.

Usually when I have low expectations they are either met or it's better than I thought. Not this time. 1. The lengthy checkin process (no one was ahead of us, either) could be a new employee. Ok. But...2. The hall to our room reeked of smoke or something. It NEVER dissipated in the two nights we were there.3. The room was a bit of a dump. The laminate floor in the room was sticky throughout. The bathroom had ants. The shower curtain was stained at bottom and ripped at top. The lampshade seam was torn. The many extra outlets for charging did not work. The mattresses were both lumpy.4. The so called included breakfast was MIA. They did write a note on their board apologizing for the inconvenience.5. There's a top secret daily $2 fee for the in room safe, whether you want it or not. We questioned it and supposedly will be refunded the fee. Not confident about that.6. We paid the pet fee but ended up it not having the dog. Because we didn't tell them soon enough, we still had to pay the fee. Our trip coincided with graduation wkend so we were stuck. But I would rather sleep further away than repeat this place
