Isthmus Hardware is Madison's closest hardware store with a wide selection in hardware, hand tools and sporting goods. Conveniently located just a few blocks from UW Madison. Isthmus Hardware has a parking lot with easy in and out access. Stopped in for light bulbs and what a tremendous selection they have at affordable prices. Pets are welcome as long as they are well behaved and on a leash.

It's great to have a place like this on the Isthmus! As a renter, there's always random things like I need like cleaning supplies or nails. They have a great selection and are incredibly helpful!

The review is long overdue. Isthmus Hardware come through for us every time.Most recently: During move-out weekend, they were the only store with the correct size stovetop drip pans. They had plenty in stock because they’re smart and stock up in August for the flurry. Then, a month later, I needed a copy of the receipt to prove to the management company that the drip pans really had been replaced. Greg was able to find the transaction and emailed a copy in about five minutes.Super friendly, down-to-earth people! Great experience each time I shop there. A-plus-plus, five stars, two thumbs up, highly recommend.

Isthmus Hardware seems to have everything. John and Ian, and the entire staff, are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. It’s great to have a reasonably-priced hardware store downtown.

I was looking to get an extension cord to run an air conditioner and while checking out they gave me advice to pick a thicker extension cord so it would be safe to run. Very knowledgeable.
