If you're needing work on a lifted truck, these guys are super knowledgeable on that. In my experience, my regular mechanic didn't want to deal with anything other than stock but J&L had the experience necessary to address issues with my lifted Tacoma.

The guys at J&L were great! I called them and explained I was visiting in the area and had a wheel bearing possibly going bad. They told me to come right over and they checked it out for me. Very courteous and understanding of my situation. I’d recommend them to everyone!

Scheduled for a 1 day installation, took 4. They called and said that I would be needing tie rod ends soon. They also said it was drivable. I Picked up the jeep Saturday, which fell apart and is not drivable. The front end wobbles approximately 5-6 inches on both sides.. this happened on hwy 14 at 60mph. We were able to get it home at 30mph. If they had the front end apart, and knew that the tie rods were that bad, why couldn't they tell me it was unsafe and needed to be replaced before releasing it. I would have been understanding. Now I don't know the extent of damages that incurred by driving it and havingthe rods let loose at 60. . We will be contacting them to figure this out. This not only caused damage to my jeep, but my wife, who was driving it at the time, is now terrified of our new toy. Thank you. I chose j&l over custom lifts in Kenosha for convenience, what a mistake on my part.

They said they measured shocks for my tires that I had on. I had 35 on. They put the same exact shocks that I had on before that were 37 inch tires. So now my shocks bottom out because they don't have enough movement because they didn't measure them properly. $1200 down the drain. No I do not recommend them go to professionals

Highly knowledgeable guys at J&L. Chuck knows more than anybody who works at any jeep dealer. If you got questions, they have the answers.

Negligent & dangerous. A lug nut FELL OFF my vehicle after having break work done (literally found it at the end of my driveway on returning home), and discovered two additional nuts were hand loose on the same wheel. Two weeks later my transmission is now also shot.... after J&L flushed it. Stunned. I drive my children around in this -until now- well maintained rig.Services: Brakes

Stopped in a few weeks ago and ordered a lift kit for my 2023 Pro4X Frontier. Parts came in and set up my appointment to have them install it. Was told that it would take 4 to 5 hours to complete. I waited in the show room while they worked on my truck. I was pleasantly surprised when the job was completed in about 2 1/2 hours. They said they had the man power so they put 3 guys on my truck and knocked it out. I will say that my experience was very good and if I get a different truck in the future I will not hesitate to come back. The price was very fair. Thanks for everything at J & L Automotive and 4 Wheel Drive Center. I love the look of my truck.

Stopped in to inquire about choices to level my Jeep, Chuck is very thorough, and explained what he wanted to accomplish, but he needed a day or 2 to make some calls to get the best item for my scenario. He called later and explained everything in great detail, I had service performed, my vehicle now looks 100% better, Chuck definitely cares about the work he performs on customers vehicles, not a very common trait these days.

Brought my car in for a brake repair. Ended up replacing the Master cylinder, with a long wait (Longer than a week with an appointment) and no communication about when the part would/had arrived. I ended up calling and the part had been delivered at some point already. Got my car back and had the same issue as before. Brought it back and they replaced the brake booster (twice... first part was warrantied.) All in all it took about three weeks with 10-12 days in the shop for the job to be done right. This is all fine. Backlogs of parts is common right now, communication is hard when you're keeping track of so many things, sometimes the most likely diagnostic isn't the problem, and parts need to be warrantied out on occassion. However, when I got my car back, the air intake had been damaged and my car had a whine when pushing the rpms above 3,000. I was told the cold weather makes parts brittle, and it was damaged prior. The sound did not exist prior to the final visit. A few months later (today) I brought my car to another shop for diagnostics, and the mechanics basically told me point-blank that my air intake was 100% damaged by negligence during the brake booster repair.Service: Brakes

First time Jeep owner, here. Bought an '06 TJ and needed new tires and steps installed. Had some shaking action and noises I wasn't sure about, too. Asked around and these guys' reputation is top-notch. Actually had them suggested by our other trusted mechanic. So I gave them a call.ANYWAY, Joe & Chuck have been so honest and straightforward (+ patient) w/ my questions and explaining everything and, in short, my jeep is already driving better. They've told me what is normal w/ Jeeps, what I might consider upgrading while NEVER trying to SELL me on anything.Solid people. Great work. Can't recommend enough.Services: Tires

Had a pretty difficult install of a BDS lift kit on my Tacoma TRD Pro. Chuck, James, and Joe did an excellent job of providing recommendations and getting the kit installed. There were quite a few fabrications they had to do to get it to work, but everything turned out amazing! I appreciate their patience and willingness to do the work. I would highly recommend them!
