Madison Public Library - Central is a beautiful and spacious library with multiple floors and lots of natural light. It offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with helpful staff. The library features a fantastic kids' area downstairs, as well as dedicated spaces for teens and adults, making it a great place for all ages. There are plenty of comfortable seating and study areas, including quiet spaces for reading or studying. Visitors can find a wide selection of books, including fiction, nonfiction, and used classical CDs, with many available on site or easily accessible through quick interlibrary loans. The library provides printing services, public computers, and self-serve holds pickup and checkout. It hosts many interesting events and has a small, pleasant used bookstore. For online access, the library’s databases, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, and eBooks are available 24/7 with a valid library card. Overall, Madison Public Library - Central is a modern, clean, and peaceful place that promotes reading, learning, and community engagement.
I was visiting from out of town, and as a library worker myself, I love checking out other libraries to see what they have going on. The entire bookstore of weeded materials was a highlight, and I also loved how they’ve got so many options for kids to play!

The librarians are friendly and helpful, there’s all sorts of tools and tech available, lots of community resources, and much more! Libraries are awesome and Central here is one of the goats!!!!!!

The upper floors are great for studying and the folks at the front desk are helpful if you have questions or are looking for a book!
