Ben provided me with a comprehensive running assessment and gave me clear informative feedback on what I could do to improve my efficiency and reduce joint pain. I highly recommend him!

I have had back problems for over 20 years. I checked out the Foundation Training books from the library and tried doing the exercises on my own, but something wasn't quite right. YouTube helped a little, but there is a lot going on in each exercise, and I wanted to make sure I was doing the exercises correctly. So, I went to the Foundation Training website and found Mona's (one of the Studio Melt owners) name - she is one of only two Foundation Training practitioners in the area. Two weeks after taking Foundation Training classes at Melt my back was better. Regular classes have helped it say healthy. There is nothing like it in town, and Mona explains every exercise in great detail, gives constant cues and will come around and correct your form in every class. You buy a class pass and attend as you please. There are other services and classes at Melt too (Yamuna ball rolling for example), but I only do the Foundation Training classes regularly. I tried Yamuna ball rolling once and also liked it. Melt and Mona have been a life saver.

First off I've never met Ben or Mona until just the other week. This review is not biased because I know them or something. I had been dealing with back issues and found out about foundation training at Melt. Taking this class has been like magic for my back and Mona has been very helpful! She really takes the time to help you and understand what your problems are. Anyone with back issues should look into foundation training. I've also taken a personal training class with Ben and he too was great. We talked on the phone prior to our first session and he was prepared to go when I showed up. He clearly listened to me on the phone! My session was aimed at figuring out my imbalances and creating a specific plan to address them. Between the both of them I am very confident I'll be 100% in no time!

This is a small, beautiful, classy little gym and fitness studio. I was in town visiting my college daughter and Mona, the owner and instructor of many classes, welcomed me warmly. I initially came in looking for Nia, which is a fantastic dance/fitness/non-impact aerobic technique. She is a great Nia teacher! Nia is an amazing and fun way to exercise (more at and this is the ONLY place in Madison where you can do it. I also stayed for a Body Chisel class which was awesome, unique and just the right amount of challenging. I got a GREAT workout and wish that Melt studio was in my own city. They offer great classes as well as personal training, which seemed very impressive, attentive and excellent. Five stars! I highly recommend!!!
