Brought my car in last week for a basic oil change. Within a week my car started seizing on the way home and I had to get it towed. Turns out whoever changed the oil did a terrible job, because it was bone dry and wrecked my engine. They put on the wrong oil filter and my car engine seized. Total waste of money and totaled car. I should have known a place that doesn’t take reservations would do a rushed and shoddy job. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Have no clue how this place has a high rating.

I cannot recommend these guys enough. I'm a college student on a very tight budget, and when my muffler broke in multiple places, I was terrified. Other shops quoted upwards of 1000$ to fix it, with high inspection fees. These guys did a free inspection, fixed the muffler in all the bad spots for 320$, and had me in and out in around an hour. These guys are insanely hard working, efficient, and kind. They worked with me on a budget I could afford. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!!

I highly recommend these guys. They are overall great people, affordable, and do honorable work. My favorite part is their personal involvement with the customer on the relating issue, such as taking me into the garage to actually understand my issue. I have known them since 2020, and they have yet to let me down. -Spanish & English friendly-

My catalytic converter was stolen from my parked car. I called MexMuffler and they got me in immediately. They had the parts in stock and had my car repaired in less than an hour. The price was very reasonable. They were courteous and very responsive to my needs. As a matter of fact after I left I realized that I had left my water bottle behind. I went back to get it and I had no more pulled in than a gentleman was coming out the door with it in hand, a big smile on his face. They are definitely at the top of my list for future repairs.

Had my car towed here, and they quickly diagnosed my issue and efficiently repaired it, returning it to me in drivable condition at a very fair price. I brought my car back for some follow on service a few weeks later, and they were able to make the repairs same-day with the same high level of consistent professionalism. Would absolutely recommend.

Pulled in without an appointment, they had me in and out with a muffler repair for $80 in 15 minutes. Best car repair experience ever. Very helpful and will go back!

Fast, professional, courteous, economical!
We drove in from out of town and the car was making a terrible sound. They fit us in Saturday afternoon before they closed, checked the car out thoroughly to make sure it was safe, fixed the broken dust cover that was making the racket, and helpfully informed us about non-immediate upcoming maintenance we needed to handle in the next month. We live elsewhere, but if we were in Madison and needed maintenance again, we'd totally return here.

trust me, if you need your exhaust repaired, don’t even bother getting an estimate from other places, just go straight to mex muffler, not only was it INCREDIBLY affordable ($90 for the whole thing, insane) they do amazing quality work as well! Enzo and the rest of the team here are absolutely wonderful and so helpful, especially for dummies like me who don’t know much about cars. I would trust these guys with my first born (if I had any kids)

Mex muffler comes with my highest recommendation. You gotta wait, but they treat ya right. Take your car in on a random Wednesday and it's perfect.

Mex Mufflers on park st is an absolute rip-off. My 65-year-old mother took her car there, describing a loud noise on the freeway and lagging acceleration when pressing on the gas. Without even test driving the car to properly diagnose the issue, they claimed the muffler was the problem due to a slightly open seal and charged her an outrageous $360 for a new one. They even showed us the muffler, which was perfectly fine—just a tiny hole and a slightly open seal that could have continued to be used without any issue. They never drove the car after the so-called "repair" to confirm it was fixed, and unsurprisingly, the issues persist. It’s clear they preyed on an older woman who trusted them, just to make a quick buck. Avoid this place at all costs—these people are untrustworthy and only care about taking your money.
