Great shop with practical solutions to repairs. They saved me from having to replace the chassis of my laptop.

Came in with a piece of my charger stuck in the port, and they were able to fix it in like 2 seconds! Super friendly and really responsive. I emailed them first to see if they could fix it, and they called back within like 30 minutes.

Awesome. Bao is very helpful. Be aware, it's a first come, first-served process. I was able to get in after what turned out to be a SSD hard drive crash in my laptop. Bao diagnosed, replaced the drive and reinstalled the OS, all within a couple of hours. It's not the most comfortable place to wait--the chairs are just banquet-hall leftovers and the space is small. More of a drop and go kind of place. In my case, I enjoyed seeing the kind of stuff they handle and asking computer questions in between customers. They'll do advice, resales, sell components and equipment or repair jobs. For deep recovery, they referred me out. Bao is very personable and gives a very honest vibe. Pleasant and informative and doesn't over-promise. Will give options at a couple steps if applicable (ie replacement costs, recovery costs). Gave me the option for reinstall Windows 10 or 11, which was nice. The work is reasonably priced--also if you pay cash, you will save 2.75%. They have a variety of ways to pay, including Bit Coin. Parking lot is incredibly small as mentioned--two spaces, with restricted parking around the building. As another reviewer mentioned, park kitty-corner, off Sherman Ave. A

Such a great community resource for the geek in all of us, with all of the used computer parts. Also a great place to go if you need repairs but aren't up to the DIY task. I was able to find a replacement power supply to fix my Mom's aging PC.

I first started going to this place because they will recycle your computer and they do not charge for doing so as other places do. They will also wipe your hard drive beforehand if you can't figure out how. Recently I was in the market for a laptop and checked their listings and they had a nice one that was reasonably priced so I bought that. As folks have mentioned it does look somewhat like a hoarding situation but that is what happens I guess when you recycle computers for free. Bao, the lady who now appears to run the place, is really nice and super helpful. The parking lot is tiny and you could get parked in so you may want to park on the street kitty corner along the side of Bear and Bottle. Lastly, they have a bunch of ways to pay. They even take gold and silver!!

Helpful and friendly - went in to find a second monitor for my office and they helped me chose one and test it’s function.

They've helped me out with repairs in the past and done exceptional work with a Mr. Robot vibe--a HUGE compliment coming from me--but the end came at last for my favorite old laptop and they set me up with and amazing and fast newer model machine in my beloved brand with additional power for the modern age. They have a green approach and this was a rehabbed model that was in great shape and was cleaned up very nicely. It was up and running better than my old one had in a couple of years and at an incredible price. Shout out to Bao for being so helpful and friendly and making it worth the wat!!

Remachines made a custom build computer specifically to meet our business needs. Boa was absolutely awesome to work with from start to finish - excellent and timely communication from asking about our needs at the beginning to keeping us informed throughout. The computer does everything we need it to, and so much faster than our old computer.

This was my first experience using ReMachines for a computer repair. It was a random selection for me, having never used a pc repair shop. ReMachines did a fantastic job and I will definitely return in the future. PROS: 1. Manager and staff are all really friendly and helpful and never tried to talk over my head, took all the time necessary to explain pc issues and solutions to someone like me, who has minimal pc knowledge. 2. Staff were really responsive with phone calls with updates, helped me figure out best next steps to maximize my resources. Zero pressure sales whatsoever; just really great education and explaining to help me make decisions. 3. When I picked up my repaired pc, the repair tech showed me everything, explained all the repairs, showed me the old parts that were neatly boxed up for me. I really appreciated the transparency. 4. Reasonable labor rates, based on pricing out other local repair shops. I did not feel over charged at all. 5. Everyone gets good service. Twice when I was in the shop, the manager was talking customers about their computer repair, explaining everything to make sure they understand. CONS: 1. While the people that work at ReMachines are knowledgeable and super nice, their dependency upon having to get permission from the owner for several steps of the process became apparent early on in my experience. From a customer standpoint, it made the business look less professional. Example, I opted to pay using Venmo which required the manager to call the owner to verify payment was received, as the owner solely controls the Venmo account; owner's name is the Pay-To, not "ReMachines." Another example, I wanted to send links to the repair tech for new components that I was considering, but the only person who has access to their only email address is the owner, so owner had to get email and forward it to the tech at the store. Owner needed to be consulted a few times related to decisions that I believe a store manager should be making. Employees seem to be used to this and act like this is a normal way of doing business, but again, from a customer perspective, it takes away from the credibility of the people who are actually doing the work and interfacing with customers. A business that is run by a guy who doesn't work in the shop is weird to me and quite honestly, gives off this money grab vibe. 2. The shop is rustic, to say the least. I tried to refrain from judging when I saw it first, rationalizing that if it was fancy, I would probably be paying more. That said, it looks like a computer junk yard to a certain extent. 3. They have OLD stuff on hand. My motherboard was shot and they had no means to test my old i5 6500 CPU because nothing they have is new enough. In my mind, they should have newer machines on hand for this reason, even if they are selling super old components and pcs. 4. Small issue, but the parking lot is tiny with barely enough room for 2 cars. If some lady parks her SUV crooked it eliminates all available parking. 5. Store manager has specialty in laptops, with less knowledge about gaming PCs. It's not a big issue, since there are techs that clearly know gaming PCs really well, but it did limit discussion when it was just the manager in the shop. Owner had come into the shop that day and looked at my PC, so manager relayed info to me. IMO, the owner, who knows gaming PCs should have called me to discuss repairs, rather than leaving to someone who doesn't have as much knowledge. I ended up waiting until the next day when a gaming PC tech was in the shop to continue the conversation. Despite the above shortcomings, I will return in the future because the service was honest, transparent, collaborative, respectful, and reasonably priced. I feel the owner needs to let go of some control and give more authority to the folks that are actually doing the work and interfacing with customers to increase the professional face of the business. I want to especially compliment Vidas, one of the repair techs, who clearly has lots of gaming PC knowledge and

Never would have found them if not for the sign out front. I go through laptops like most people go through underwear and I need them for school and work. So happy I found them. Amazing service, knowledgeable, and crazy cool cheap warranty. Super happy.

I have been going to them for my odds and ends for the home office during COVID and not only do I like the service, the costs are reasonable. They just expanded from half the building to the whole space so it will be easier to look at the merchandise, though when I was last in there it was still being set up. Friends and I go there for our parts and will continue to do so. Its important to have a local parts store and I don't even have to wait for amazon delivery, just drive right up.

Remachines once again saved the day! My computer started showing some weird Bitlocker message that I couldn't get past. I tried everything I could find online and it didn't look like there were any options left besides wiping it and starting over (and I'd lose all my data). The geniuses at Remachines first tried to walk me through some things over the phone, and when I took it in they were able to fix it for a mere $45! No lost data! I'm so grateful for their prompt and friendly service!

We all know how frustrating it is when our technology fails us. My computer wouldn't turn on on morning when I got to work, so I called bunch of places around Madison. They all wanted to charge me a minimum of $140 for a diagnostic test, then additional charges for the repairs. I took it into Remachines and an amazing woman there named Boa fixed my computer in like 10 minutes and it was only $40. I will definitely go back there next time my computer acts up. Highly recommend!
