If I could give a lower score I would. This credit union is only "willing and happy" to help or assist certain types of members. I just found out I wasn't one of "those" members. After being with them forever, my first application for a loan was declined on a technicality. When I asked to speak to an underwriter, she just gave me a cold and "matter of fact" brush-off and totally did not care to what I was explaining. Crazy how all their ads say they are here to help, but really, they are not. The interest rates mimic those of predatory lenders, and their customer service is a subpar level. I need to start looking another banking institution that will actually work to keep their loyal members. I do not recommend this credit union, with so many others out there to choose from.

Update: It’s now been a whole month, and we haven’t gotten a single call from anyone.My husband and I applied for a mortgage loan through April Hardy, and we were very disappointed by her lack of communication. We were told we would have an answer about our application the next day, and we simply never heard back about the application, and we were completely unable to reach April until it was too late. We were hoping to put in an offer on a home with an approved loan, but due to her lack of response we were not able to. We just wish she would have given us an honest answer to when we would be approved by, and now we took a hard hit to our credit for nothing. And she still hasn’t returned our calls to find out if our application was even approved. It added so much unnecessary stress to our first experience applying for a loan. I’ve received so many calls from Ixonia State Bank and US Bank, and they’ve been far more helpful; I wish we would have applied through them first. But now we’re already stuck with a hard check because we were assured by April that we would most likely be approved. So disappointing. I guess she just has more important customers.

The auto teller machines are terrible. They are annoying to use. If there's any issue you're basically out of luck. I thought it ate a $100 bill on a large deposit. It ended up having stuck in the envelope and was still there in the bin when I went back and double checked. But if there was a real person we could have re-counted in the moment and figured out what happened. If it eats a bill, you're out of luck, wait until they can get a tech out there.

Just spent my lunch here to inquire about a transaction issue and the branch manager, Brady, assisted me today. He absolutely went above and beyond in resolving an issue with a "stop payment" on a check I received. Exceeded my expectations of customer service. The longest it ever took to open an account (75 minutes?!!!). Many questions were asked that were not even relevant to the account. The bank teller was not very experienced, and I had to correct a serious mistake she made (using the wrong form). Not the level of customer service I would expect judging from other reviews.

I have been banking with summit credit union for 8 years for personal and business needs. Only positive experience. They always take care of you. Federal banking regulation might dictate certain rules but they make customer service enjoyable. Thank you!

Nice staff. Clean and not so busy on a Saturday morning. Whomever plowed their parking lot made a dirty mess, but grateful that a bank (or credit union) downtown offers free parking.
