I absolutely LOVE university club. It's the perfect place for studying and the coffee is really good. However, it's always extremely hot in there even when it's warm outside. I've heard other students complaining about how hot it is inside, and I always plan to dress in lots of layers when I know I'll be there any given day. I'll definitely change my rating if the building manager turns the heat down when it's unnecessarily hot and wasting energy :)

The Union Commons coffee house within is roomy and quiet with a nice view of Library Mall. No power outlets for laptops.

Not good, tastes like they fried up 20 chicken sandwiches last night and they get microwaved to order. i can tell because the chicken and sauce is very, very dried out. Cool study spot though.

We have holding events and celebrations as well as having lunch at the University Club in Madison for decades. It is a grand old building with charm and tradition oozing from it but the kitchen and bar are what really make TUC memorable. I have scheduled large and small events at TUC and the staff and service have always been outstanding. The menu is well executed and interesting while meeting budget. Held both our sons graduation celebrations there and was so happy to have delicious food and beverage at a historic and easy location for friends and family. This is a family tradition we will continue to enjoy.

Several weeks ago, after visiting the Wisconsin Historical Society headquarters on Library Mall, I had lunch at the University Club; the experience was a delight. My meal consisted of a terrific lunch: tasty house greens, Irish salmon resting on large roasted asparagus, and a fruity white wine. Amidst the vintage decor, I enjoyed a quiet spot, great food, and gracious servers. I recommend this spot of historical architectural beauty to anyone wanting a leisurely lunch--the experience is unique and one not limited to UW faculty. Thanks to the staff!

The University Club was the perfect place to have our wedding reception! Sarah was so amazing to work with, helping us plan the timeline and answering every random little question in a very timely manner. We dropped off our decor items and she and her staff did everything for us, so there wasn't anything we had to worry about. They were able to accommodate many dietary restrictions at no extra charge, and the serving staff was great at bringing out food for our guests with young kids a little earlier than the rest of their table so they could get home in time for their bedtime. The food and drinks were great (we loved the tempura shrimp skewers at cocktail hour especially). The venue was absolutely gorgeous, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for those who didn't want to dance, and a really beautiful historic interior and exterior. If you want a gorgeous location with more character than your average hotel ballroom, this is the perfect venue.

The University Club was the perfect spot for our wedding in June. Sarah is the best Event Manager ever. Throughout the whole planning process she was extremely communicative, transparent and organized. She made our entire experience fun and easy, and the party was perfect because of her and her staff. Can't say enough great things about this beautiful venue - it is truly a gem in Madison. You can't beat the timelessness of it, the location and price.
