I went into Home Depot late at night after a full evening of gardening, looking for additional wood for my garden beds. Mitchal was one of the few people available to help and he was so incredibly attentive and helpful! He listened intently to my needs and provided exceptional customer service.

As a fellow business owner I definitely understand how customer service is so important to continue in your relationships with your clients. I ordered a vacuum online during the Black Friday sale. I never received notification of the vacuum or its delivery to Home Depot. I placed a call on December 22 looking for that item and I was told the item was back ordered and should arrive to the store on December 27. I was then told that if I did not see the notification via email that I would receive a text to the number on file three days later, notifying me that my item had arrived. I had not received either and so I went in the store today to pick up that item. The whole situation could have been much more pleasant had I've been met with somebody who was kind and willing to take their time to walk through the situation that occurred which was the item got actually delivered in November on the 27th and I was not notified, and therefore then canceled. When I asked the lady in customer service to help me look through the communications, so I could see where things had gone amiss I was met with reluctance, frustration and pure annoyance. Super unfortunate as it doesn't, take much just to be kind.

Last November we contracted with Home Depot to do a kitchen remodel. Huge mistake! Because of CoVid and supply problems, delivery delays, etc., we were convinced that one stop shopping (Home Depot) would offer us greater coordination, communication, and efficiency. Instead, there was NO OVERSIGHT, many delays and mistakes, (which I had to tell them about because no one was coordinating or overseeing the work) Mistakes and issues included:1. The guy they sent out measured wrong for cabinets and didn't bother to tell delivery people or installers that we have a narrow hallway and kitchen on the second floor. Luckily, windows were large and they were able to pulley things up to second floor, but it wasn't easy.2. Cabinets were a threshold delivery. Meaning, the plan was to leave all the cabinets in the parking lot in the middle of a thunderstorm for two people in their 70's to take upstairs 3. Electrician drilled all the way through the kitchen wall through to the bedroom and didn't tell us4. Crew leader changed three times during the 11 months it took to complete our project 5. We waited weeks and sometimes longer between contractors (cabinets, electrical, plumbing, countertops 6. Old Molding was ripped out and they did not plan to replace it until I complained. Then they had to order the molding, wait for it to be in stock, and another two month delay waiting for installer to have time to install.7. Plumber came three times because of mistakes ( I had to call to let them know) 8. We were promised a maximum of 6 months to complete, it took 11. 9. They forgot to order hardware for the cabinets. Another delay. 10. A Crew leader never even once came to look at or inspect the project, three different crew leaders worked virtually in different states. 11. Appliances arrived two months early for installation. They had to be cancelled reordered. Many more..I will never recommend or return to Home Depot and will tell everyone I know to look elsewhere.

I put my trust in Home Depot as we underwent a basement renovation. I ordered 20,000$ of custom cabinetry and countertops. I knew the production of my cabinets would take about 8 weeks but was pleasantly surprised when they were delivered by 6 weeks. The contracted installer came out to unbox and inspect. Damaged items were reordered. When the second round of cabinets came I had to unbox and inspect myself because my Depot project manager could not get ahold of the installer. I requested install dates for my cabinets. There were a lot of back and forth emails between the project manager and I. I would only get a one sentence reply usually that he "emailed the installer and asked for dates". I'm sorry but you should be CALLING your people. It took 6 weeks for the installer to respond to my project manager, only to give me dates that were another 7 weeks out. I was able to find my own installer to speed along the process and am now in the midst of a refund on my Installation charges. When I requested the refund the customer order specialist gave me a general amount. Only to tell me the next day she "forgot" about an additional change I wouldn't be refunded. If you want your project done in a timely manner and want open communication about your project DO NOT use Home Depot.

Purchased a dishwasher and scheduled delivery. While still in the store we had to delay the delivery by two days. Everything was 'all set' for the new delivery date. We received a call before the original date telling us they were coming and couldn't be there on the revised date. Installers arrived and then said they could not install as a plumber was needs (not sure why). We were supposed to receive a call within 24 hours. We had to call 36 hours later. The plumber was scheduled for a week later. The old dishwasher was not reconnected and is non functional. Our new one was left into our garage, completely unprotected. Today we got a call that the plumber can't come tomorrow but next week is wide open. Cannot recommend this store. Service is completely unreliable. Will be attempting to return and purchase from a different retailer.

I just wanted to share my great experience here! I rented a brad nailer for a trim job we were working on and had help from the staff to make sure everything was working properly before I left! Also, I figured on having to go into the store to get the nails I needed, but they had them right there! I got some great info on tools and even chatted about cars for a while - great place all around!

One month ago we bought 34 boxes of laminate flooring online we were told there were 64 boxes available at this store. We drive 70 miles to Madison to pick it up. They had put it on the floor and sold our prepaid flooring, all but 15 boxes. We took the 15, being assured by Home Depot staff the balance would arrive in a week. We called the next week to see if we could pick it up. They said it had been placed on the floor once again and was all gone. Twice they sold our prepaid flooring! We are still waiting for the remaining flooring and just got the run around an hour ago, saying they were checking and would call us in a few minutes.... not looking good, they still haven't called.

Worst experience at the Home Depot on Spring St in Madison WI but I can’t seem to find a page for them. My husband and I bought a washer from them and had a delivery date for 10/11. The contractors brought the washer but found that the pipes were corroded- they had a plumber employed by Home Depot though that would come out to fix it as well as put the unit in same day. So we waited. The plumber came a few days later advised he doesn’t fix the pipes and just turns the water off when the unit is being placed… also there was no unit. He said he’d come back out with the contractors on 10/23 with the washer. 10/23 came along and they came with the unit but no plumber. The plumber was off that day. So they advised they could not install the washer without the plumber changing the pipes. When I advised that the plumber advised he doesn’t change the pipes he just turns the water off, the contractor said absolutely not, they change the pipes. Why do I need to have my husband home with me for a man to take the correct actions? This plumber took full advantage of my lack of knowledge on the subject and was sexist. He advised me false information and lied. We immediately went to cancel the order the next day. In which we were advised the warehouse was closed and it can’t be cancelled unless they’re open. Which made no sense. I never even saw the washer. The next day it was cancelled, we were advised we’d get a refund in a day or two. A refund was necessary for us to get a new washer elsewhere where we would be treated better- but no refund. We called, got the run around, we finally went in a week later and asked for the refund. The store refused to give us one. Advising that the washer needed to get back to LG before they could provide a refund. Which made no sense. My husband specifically asked “so if I buy this dewalt drill and return it tomorrow, I have to wait until dewalt gets this back?” In which they said no that’s not how that works. It made no sense. Finally a few days later I got a call that they could give the refund but I’d have to come in to get it. I went straight there and finally got my refund two weeks after it was cancelled and 4 weeks after we ordered it. That Home Depot is a joke, we will no longer be shopping at any Home Depot’s in the future. To top it off, no one could provide me the name of the contracting company that employed the delivery guys or the plumber. How do you not know who your company is sending to your customers houses? So unprofessional, I will not do business with a company that employs sexist people. Done.

Employees are extremely rude. On several occasions I had to ask at the service desk if someone could check me out and I was told in a demeaning voice that I would have to wait until they finished what they were doing. Another time I went to check out at the Pro desk (I am a Pro painter) and was told I couldn't check out in that line (I wondered if it was because I was a woman and the guy though I couldn't possibly be a Pro??). I avoid going to this store unless completely necessary and will go out of my way to purchase my paint at the Janesville store. I wonder when management will fix these issues at this store??? This store has been this way for too many years.

Shame on Home Depot that lets people walk in with out a mask, it is a Dane County mandate y should be enforced, instead the put people at risk saying that the manager doesn't want to stop people from coming in.

My water heater sprung a leak Friday night. I called Home Depot on Verona Road in Madison Wi and ordered a new water heater. About 15 min after ordering a representative from Home Depot called to set up an installation time. Shortly a plumber called from KJM plumbing to verify a time to be on Monday morning. The plumber arrived right on time with my new water heater and by noon I had hot water again. After the bad experience of mopping up the floor at night, the installation went very smooth. Thank You Home Depot and especially thank you KJM plumbing. Every one was polite and respectful.
